Legacy40k
I've been working for the last little bit in converting the AoBR dread into something a little bit more interesting. A venerable deathwatch dreadnaught. It's going to be formerly from the salamanders chapter. I figured it had to be salamanders given the melta/heavy flamer weapon combination. so the right shoulderpad will be green with a salamander head on it and I'll probably paint scales onto the cloth on the shoulder. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/Legacy40k/Space%20Marines/DSCF1746.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/Legacy40k/Space%20Marines/DSCF1747.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/Legacy40k/Space%20Marines/DSCF1748.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/172609-venerable-dread-wip/ Share on other sites
The_Chaplain
that has a lot of potential as a model-- good job so far Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/172609-venerable-dread-wip/#findComment-2039831 Share on other sites
Montuhotep
I think he looks very good, especially the cloth over the MM arm, that's folded very nicely. 1 question - the DCCW arm; is that more scales on the arms' 'shoulder' or actual script? If the latter, how was it done? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/172609-venerable-dread-wip/#findComment-2039832 Share on other sites

If the latter, how was it done? It's script... kinda. More like a bunch of symbols and lines. I didn't try and write anything. It would be really hard, time consuming, and I don't know what I'd write. besides.. the actual deathwatch shoulder pads don't say anything anyhow. Master Toddius
I really like what you have so far. The add ons make all the difference in the world. I would be convinced this was a venerable dread. My only crit is to replace the MM with a plasma cannons or assault cannon  Are you thinking of maybe a back banner? That's what it comes with, I don't have any other weapons to choose from. Also, Multi Melta makes sense for Salimanders. And finally... The plan is to have it drop pod into battle and take out tanks. Because it's going into a drop pod.. there won't be a back banner. Besides, I think it had enough cloth added already :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/172609-venerable-dread-wip/#findComment-2040544 Share on other sites
