wolf lord123
if i take one storm shield in a whole squad of wolf guard, do i get the 3+ invulnerable save for the whole unit as long as the storm shield bearer is still alive? rahl02
Nope sorry, only the model with the shield would get the 3++ save. So with the wound allocation rules you couldn't take the 3++ save then remove a differant model. However the the reduced cost for Storm Shield, the only reason not to take it is if you want +1 attack, or you could just run with powerfists and thunder hammers. Legatus
it would still be a good idear to have 1-3 models with storm shield in the unit, so if the unit is hit by missile launchers or plasmaguns or some other high AP weapons, you can try to put those wounds on the storm shield models first instead of outright removing a model. No offense intended, but I recommend that you go back to the BRB (Main Rulebook) and review the sections on resolving Hits and Wound Allocation, making Saves, and removing models. I'm at work so I can't provide you with the pages to look at, but I'm sure a fellow wolf will come along and provide these for you. Reviewing these sections should make it clear how to take saves and resolve wounds for that Wolf Guard model, and whatever unit he is in/with.
