Mordith
I was just messing with Army Builder to plan out my SW force and I came across Bionics as a Wargear option. I tried to find any info on this and I cannot. Is this still part of 5th ed or has it been removed. I am just looking for which Codex it is in and on what Page. Thanks, and a Cask of Ale for all. Bonham1963
What bionics does is in the SW codex summary. The cost is listed in the wargear. I'm referencing the mail order reference copy, provided by GW. Bionics would still be viable in 5th edition. Bran Scalphunter
Special I'd just like to make this official Rulez Pack statement regarding the Codex: Space Wolves wargear summary sheet. The above stated summary sheet is now defunct. Any item listed in there has either a full description found within Codex: Space Wolves or Codex: Space Marines (5th Edition). Do NOT use the rules found within the Summary sheet for any item or weapon even if said item is not found with an actual definition within Codex: Space Wolves or Codex: Space Marines. Because of our unique Codex, we take most our generic Marine equipment from Codex: Space Marines, including: Storm Shields, Terminator Armor, Assault Cannons, Plasma Pistols/Guns/Cannons, Company Banners, and Chapter Banners. If the item has a description within the Codex: Space Wolves armory page, use that definition. If by some chance an item uses the rules of an item that is no longer existent (Wolf Helm of Russ, Bionics, Auspex, Wolf Totem), ignore the item's rules. For all intents and purposes, that piece of wargear does not exist and is merely for conversions' sake. Thank you for your time and good hunting. I hate to quote myself, but please do a Search next time. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/172855-bionics/#findComment-2043095 Share on other sites

Bionics would still be viable in 5th edition. Summary=/= rules. Summary= bogus wargear. Alot of stuff in the summary no longer functions- like the reductor for instance, and bionics. I see no reason why bionics doesn't work, which is the OP's question. OnlyInDeath
You must read the SW codex closely. The summary sheet on the back of the dex specifically says (and I'm paraphrasing) that the sheet is for reference purposes only, and to see the armory for complete rules on the wargear. The armory section of the dex says that anything NOT listed specifically with a description in our dex, we should reference C:SM. IF there is nothing to reference in the new dex, then the item no longer exists and therefore it would be pointless to purchase it. Use x rules, x rules dont exist anymore, therefore wargear is null and void. Not, use x rules, x rules dont exist, therefore use summary in the back of the book which still says (in the little print) to use x rules. It's the fine print in our dex that will get you. Carefully read the print on the top and bottom of all pages if it's there. Those are the rules that'll getcha. dragon950
My friend and I decided about this rule becuase one of our distant friends did something like this. You can either use the old rules or you use the new rules. He decided that the new rules were better to go with. He's a DA player by the way, so that should give you a clue as to why he was doing that. I beleive thats pg 14, but Im sure you can find it ;). It gives rules for our equipment- frost blades, ruinc armor, etc.... and it specificly states that anything not found there is to be taken using the rules in C:SM. If there are no rules on the armory or special rules page, and no rules in the core book, and no rules in C:SM... where are we to get the rules? The summary is not a rules page. Its a synopsis. Youll note that Helm of Russ is incorrect even at the date of printing *as an example* and that according to that summary our plasma weaponry doesnt get hot. Bonham1963
Thanks. No wonder I see so much energy devoted to getting a new SW codex. Late September/Early October is what I've heard for a new codex. Hope that materializes. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/172855-bionics/#findComment-2043996 Share on other sites
