Lysander question

Recommended Posts

guys I need help and understanding... this blasted lysander chap is a mean dude...

for me to have any chance against him I would need grimnar/wolf guard but I need to field a 2000 pt army before that, but other chapters use him willy nilly and his cost v destruction seems woth it, I've seen him with UM/templars.

toe to toe v ragnar/ulrik he would win, how do you beat this chap?

too me it seems a cheap way to bring in a charater who is a bass ass...

if he is on the side of the 'imperium' can he not assist us SW when fighting?

You kill him by using the law of averages. Enough bolter rounds = failed saves = dead!

No seriously, if he comes at you in an LR, ok, that's mean, but it's also going to be a huge chunk of someones army, so try to stay out of it's way and shoot other units to pieces first.

If he Deepstrikes in: Success. He can't assault and you can move out of charge range and shoot away at him to your hearts content.

Yes, he's mean in CC which is why you don't take him on in CC unless you have something crazy like 22 blood claws giving him 18 Power Fist attacks in one charge...

Yes, we are a CC oriented army, but some guys should be softened up in shooting first...

thx

as a noob I only use the C:SM and then add the SW, I'll get him and hold him in reserve....

uhm, what????

you mean you use the marine dex and take units as you like from the SW dex?

like a list lead by lysander, some vanguard and sternguard, some tactical marines and some grey hunters and bloodclaws?

I've got to agree with some of guys on this matter, I've only come up against Lysander once and managed to drop him with mass Blood Claw attacks. The Powerfists did bugger all but the sheer weight of attacks from the pups dragged him down. I'm starting to believe that weight of fire is king in 5th edition against all opposition.
