Grail Knight Posted July 8, 2009 Author Share Posted July 8, 2009 Yes, the Grail Knights are my very own all-purpose chapter, that can be used as space marines, blood angels, dark angels, grey knights, daemonhunters... The helmet and the color scheme are perfect! How do you plan on using them for every marine army? Thats alot of stuff to mess with, and is their a fluff reason for this? Being a Blood angel successor is risky buisness, one why are you chosen to exist as Blood Angels? Since there is the flaw in the way of stuff? Why Blood angels? Also on Blood Angels, is how do they view their flaw? Do they see it as an unholy taint that must be removed? A mental test that strengthens their will and resolve? a link to their dead Primarch? a tool to kick more faces in? many options but not all are fun or original! Since you are on the liber I would recommend some of your marine's backgrounds. Read the Do's and Dont's of DIY and tell us what your new boys are about. I agree with you, is a lot of stuff to handle, and the main reason I do it is because... I LOVE THE MINIATURES! I'm the kind of player that opens a book or a magazine, and the fisrt that look for is pics of the figures, conversions, advices etc... I leave the background and rules for later... After a WH Fantasy tournament (I play with Bretonnia), the only price available for me was a box of 40K... I have to choose between some chaos guys, and some Grey Knights Terminators... Since I'm always the good guy, I take the termies home... the next day, I call a friend who is a background and rules expert. He came home, bring me some regular Grey Knights, more terminators, and the book (he wants to start another army, so, I bought all the stuff very cheap) That night, I look at the book, and I saw inside a very cool model of an inquisitor wearing a crimson armor, and gold... and I choose that colors for my army... very soon, the whole models were painted in crimson armor, and gold, all them were grey knights, but not grey at all... I choose another name to my army: Grail Knights (because of bretonnia, of course). I have a set of pegasus wings, so, I create my master with wings, and looks fine. after a mail order, a land raider, a dreadnought, a command squad and Torquemada join the forces... looking around in a couple of stores here, I get more Space Marine models, and I paint them all with the same colors... more conversions... but, when the fisrt tournament came, I notice something... Grey Knights armies are NOT very useful to win games, nor tournaments... Altought I like a lot the inquisition background, I want to play with another army... also, I want to use more figures, like bikes and jumpacks... I like the bike models a lot, aso, I like to use jumpacks, because my game is hand to hand combat more than shoots. A buddy says the magic words: Blood Angels... jumpacks, combat and 'red' Grails :o ... and also, the colors of my army could match, and my last conversion of the Master Chapter in power armor and with wings looks like somebody called... Sanguinius. With the perfect excuse in my hand, I get lots of marines with jumpacks, and more stuff to make conversions... but I had a problem... my background... my models had a lot of inquisition symbols, and all my tanks look like inquisitorial dedicated transports. it was a bit late to go back, and star to paint everything again... somebody tell me that the colors match with a chapter calld Red Hunters, and is true, but they are a codex chapter (no DC, no baal, no furiosos...), so, I discard the idea. so far, I have enough models to play with almost any SM chapter, and I like to use diferent rules, but my 'main' army, is Blood Angels. here you can see more pics: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...p;#entry2032157 your idea of a sucessor chapter that works with the ordo malleus looking for redemption is good. can you help me with ideas? thanks in advance Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
