Ideaus
This came up in a freindly match, My oppentent attached his Libby with Gates of infity with his vangaurd, teleported them acroos the field when they land he run with his libby to get out of coherency, which detached him from the unit, then he declared he was using Heroic intervention to assault with his vangaurd, since the rule says HI cannot be used with a IC attached he technical wasn't. my question is wouldn't HI be declared when the IC was attached therefore making it a illegal move or becuase assault comes after shootin phase allowing the libby to get out making it a legal move. waaanial00
Thats not very "friendly". Your opponent forgot to read or mention that an Independant Character can only leave a squad in the movement phase, therefore if he ran with his Libby after GOI then he should have moved the Vanguard the same amount of distance. Either way there is no way he could have used the Heroic Intervention in this manner because the Librarian will always be part of the squad and he does not have that special rule. breng77
Also, you have to declare HI before you Deepstrike (or at least before you scatter) so he would have to declare it before the Lib could have ran out anyway.
