Higgins
Hi guys :P since the daemon hunter codex is the second oldest codex in the game, its got a lot of questions that need answering lol my question for today is about the vehicles allowed and disallowed for a Grey knight army. since the leman russ is allowed (with the two troops) are the leman russ variants allowed? for example: the leman russ punisher same with later vehicles that were added after the codex was written like the manticore etc. may same question goes towards the space marine allies as well like the vindicator and drop pods (not including the drop pod dedicated transport for the dreadnought in imperial armor 2) hope you can help guys, thanks :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/173160-allied-vehicles-for-daemonhunters/ Share on other sites

As a general rule you can't take any vehicles that aren't specifically mentioned as selectable in the Daemonhunter Codex though, so things like Manticores are out. Ceasarian
Definatly take a look at the Ard Boyz FAQ that may help out. Your best bet would be to talk to your gaming group, and ask them if they would mind you using the Ard Boyz FAQ in friendly games. This is going to be an issue that will plague DH armies until we get an updated FAQ from GW hopefully in the near future. Pretty much until we get an exact ruling from GW- just be sure to ask your group before setting any lists in stone. Vedrial
Another question to consider is whether C:DM and C:WH should use the written rules for Chimera and Rhinos. With the huge points difference, it really is a glaring issue. A Daemonhunters Chimera is 39 points more expensive than its Imperial Guard equivalant and has less fire points, and the old open topped rule. The Rhino has 1 less fire point and is 19 points more expensive, plus the old open topped rule. It also lacks the repair ability. Now, I know that there are arguments that "other codicies don't get new rules", but maybe they all should. I mean, after all, Daemonhunters Land Raiders got the Power of the Machine Spirit from the FAQ. Chengar Qordath
Unfortunately, it's not really a question; we use the units as written in our codex. However, the Imperial Armor 2 update does bring our Rhinos and Chimeras into line with IG and SM ones, but you can't use IA rules without your opponent's permission, and they're right out for almost all tournaments. Well, technically, I didn't say it's whether or not the Inquisition should use the updated rules ^_^ In my humble opinion, they should. Does that mean the =I= should get 4 shot rending Assault Cannons? 3+ invul save Storm Shields? Force Weapons that don't ignore eternal warrior? Well, probably, but I draw the line at whatever my opponent and I find fair (or what house rules dictates). Daedalus Templarius
If you look in the reference section of the BRB, under 'Forces of the Imperium' e.g. DH, Inquisition, etc, you will find that Assault cannons have their old values, and no rending. But if you look at the SM one, they do. Yea, pretty awesome right?
