Essayons
Does anyone have an opinion regarding how squadrons of allied Valkyries would work? If you included a squadron of them from the new IG Codex, they, by the rules for squadrons of vehicles under the general rules, must remain within 4 inches of each other, measured from base to base. Is this possible considering the overhang of the wings? Essayons. Essayons
OK...upon further review, it looks like you measure skimmers from the hull. That makes it a bit more reasonable. Anyone out there used any squadrons of Valkyries? What's your experience been? Essayons. leonlynch
The Inquisition does not have access to any "allied" Imperial Guard units, only a limited choice of "inducted" Imperial Guard units as listed on page 26 of Codex Witch Hunters and Pages 30& 31 in Codex Daemon Hunters. There is no option for including Valkyries or Vendettas from the Imperial Guard Codex within either existing Inquisition force either singly or in squadrons. Sorry if that seems a little blunt but the situation will not arise outside of either an Apocalypse game or a Codex Imperial Guard list using Inquisition allies so there may not be many people on this forum who have tried this unless they also have a Guard army or play a lot of apocalypse. That's correct, as sad as it may seem... On a side note I don't believe we would need any Valkyries anyway. We got many strong units as it is already, even thou we can't lash out 3 vendettas to obliterate does carnifexes we can send a bunch of Grey knights, or maybe shot heavy stuff down with exorcists... You get my point. It would be more than fun thou to play a Valkyrie. Cheers! Essayons
Right. My use of "allied" was a bit imprecise. Does anyone have any experience with squadrons of Valkyries used in IG armies with Inquisitorial components? G. Eddie Orlock
Right. My use of "allied" was a bit imprecise. Does anyone have any experience with squadrons of Valkyries used in IG armies with Inquisitorial components? G. I have, and I could drivel on for some length. Regretfully, it would be off topic here. When I've tried it, the battle sisters I've dropped off on objectives always seem to snuff it, but Yarrick lives. Those few times I've attempted similar manoeuvres with my Grey Knights, I've had unfortunately terrible matchups. There are few things in the game that can take the fight to a full Mega Nobz Mob as troops on an objective and win. Doesn't help that my Demolishers never seem to be able to shoot worth beans. Now that the thread is booby-trapped, if we're wise we'll wait for this thread to fall off the page on its own and spare the mods time. number6
I know it's picayune, but we may not discuss non-B&C armies on the B&C. As it is impossible for an Inquisition army to obtain squadrons of Valkryries, we can't really talk about them here. Valks would be open for discussion only in the context of using the Forgeworld rules for Inquisition army use of them. Otherwise, discussion of non-B&C armies must be restricted to: * tactics for combating them * rules queries for how units in those armies actually function As this topic is about neither subject, it is verboten.
