All this "jumping on the bandwagon of the new dex" and the "jumping on people for saying jumping on the band wagon" needs to stop. I totally understand where the hostility is coming from (being a SW player since 2nd) for many players. For many years we were a small group of brothers who saw an increase of new players during the 3rd edition only for those wolves to recant their oaths to Russ and jump on the next new shiny dex that came along. We have been proud to be unique especailly those who stayed loyal to the old outdated dex whilst others had moved on. It must upset some of the older memebrs/players when they see that this is just history repeating itself all over again. But this is all simply part of life and maybe as old wolves we can be less vocal about our point of views.

Seconded, I'm a 2nd ed vintage player myself but, just as with the 3rd ed C:SW, some of the new members will stick around and it would be the shame to tarnish the reputation of this forum for the sake of the odd message.

Hear hear. We wolves are known for our relaxed manner and shouldn't behave like other stuck up chapters i could mention - all brothers are welcome in the fang.

I was crazy enough to join the fang at the end of 4th ed when the codex was older than some of the pups here and have never felt anything other than welcome (and drunk on ale...) Just remember that every new bloodclaw only makes us stronger!

You young pups i'm a 1st Ed SW this year will be my 20th, by the way did anyone else play the Book of Astronomican campaign?

I didn't when it came out, but a friend had staged a re-run of it amongst locals back in my old hometown.. Hence the sig quote in my sig :D

I couldn't agree more. I started with 2nd edition some 18 years ago and would still consider myself a relative blood claw on B & C (with some wolf guard tendencies :)). Bottom line, welcoming and helping any new player is a key part of the success of the 40k hobby and community.

eyeslikethunder: Congrats on your 20th anniversary. I just missed 1st edition, so have an ale, or 10, on me!
