Schertenleib
A buddy of mine is using the new Valkyrie models with his Black Templars (reinforces by IG for Apoc). Is anyone else using gunships? Brother Tuditanus
I won't be, or at least don't plan on it. Would rather take the time and make myself a thunderhawk. Grey Mage
Im good.... Im really not to interested in a Valkyrie. I wouldnt mind using those rules to represent a thunderhawk in small games though. Durfast Spiritwolf
The TH is getting there - I guess I should get round to taking some snaps... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/173405-gunships/#findComment-2049649 Share on other sites
Wolf Guard Hengist
I have four of them and fill them with Flamer toting vets, they make a nice addition for Apoc games being a very fast moving strike force. Valerian
A buddy of mine is using the new Valkyrie models with his Black Templars (reinforces by IG for Apoc). Is anyone else using gunships? I'm planning on it. The Thunderhawk is great, but only really feasible in Apocolypse. It is too expensive points-wise (and for the actual model), and a bit much for a standard battle. The Valkyrie/Vendetta would be a great fit for the gap in between the Land Speeder and the Thunderhawk. I can probably get my buddies to allow me the use of the Valkerie and Vendatta for my Space Wolves provided I sacrifice all of the other vehicles I could otherwise use. Also, for non-buddies, I could probably convince them that these vehicles are my "counts as" Rhino, or Predator, or whatever, provided I had the proper (magnetized) weapons shown. I wouldn't try it in a WYSIWYG tournament, but that isn't my deal anyway. I am of the opinion that Space Marine armies shouldn't really have any land-based vehicles anyway, and that all of their support craft should be air and space capable, so I am a firm supporter of using this vehicle. If your opponents think the potential for a first turn charge that the Valkyrie gives you is too overpowered, then you could maybe convince them to trade your Scout ability for BS4 (since you'd want the pilots to be Wolves instead of Imperial Navy pogues).
