Ragnar the great
Brothers I have a question and I've been throught the CSM (pg69) I am contemplating getting the FW version (pg 24 cataloge) deathstorm with assualt cannons (prod code IA-ISM-F-040) my questions are... 1. what is the point value as I can't find it in CSM? 2. what are the troops numbers for it? is it limited to a certain number because of the cannons 3. can I use a beacon on it? so I can drop BC with jet packs? 4. If I coloured this in the deathwing colours can I use this with my SW army and DA army? many thx for your help... Brother Tuditanus
I think the assault cannon variant is a FW only drop pod... I think.. In which case it would likely be in IA:2. Troop transport I believe is '0'. Pts. cost, and ability to use beacon I wouldn't know.. I would say a hesitant 'yes you can'. And paint it those colors if you wish, just maybe add the door icons from GW pods or some such device on, but magnetize them or such to make them able to be swapped in and out. wiplash
the deathwind drop pod is in one of the apocalypse books (GW or IA:Apoc) it counts as a heavy support choice if i remember correctly it cannot transport any men as it only has weapons inside unless the people you play with hate you no one can complain about the colour of the drop pod im fairly certain that you will not be able to put a beacon on it, although it may already have one also seeing as BC jetpackers are too expensive i wouldnt reccomend using them trust me get the rules for the drop pod before you buy one, if im correct it basically only shoots once (on the turn it arrives) scoring like D3 attacks on any unit within so many inches Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/173413-drop-pod/#findComment-2049660 Share on other sites
Captain Talon
Also, that drop pod is not tournament legal, though most non tournament events should allow it. To be honest, costwise, it would be cheaper to buy a plastic one and a Dark Angels Ravenwing sprue for the assault cannons and convert your own. Ragnar the great
dudes no way am I ready for touri's and I never thought of doing that.. I play just for fun, got tired of beating those on line with DoW 1+2 love playing this and painting my models. just getting peed of with people pulling out armour on me as I only have a certain SW army. I have a DA army but not pts wise as SW but when I combine the 2 it cause mayhem, as i use my scout (OBEL) and DS my da squad(s). just thinking that if I dropped a DP with cannons with a beacon it would cause a twist.... hey remember we are meant too be unorthadoxie fighters... KeithGatchalian
You are better off converting this model off the plastic kit. Its cheaper, more durable, won't melt in the heat, and you won't be exposed to resin dust. Plus you won't have to deal with FW's great shipping delays, nor have to deal with a warped kit. Grey Mage
Its in Imperial Armor IIRC, and it cant transport troops at all sadly. Its firepower is pretty devastating though. But since its a forgeworld model with forgeworld rules youll want to ask your buddies if theyd be willing to play against it first though, as its opponents permission only.
