glayvin34
I looked on the GW site and there doesn't appear to be a Sister of Battle wielding a meltagun, which IMHO is the best special weapons choice for a Sisters of Battle or Dominion Squad. Is it easy to convert a meltagun from one of the other models? It seems to me like it would be fairly difficult, if there was a model shooting a bolter with one hand it might be simpler but they are all holding their bolters close. Has anyone successfully converted a meltagun sister? If not I guess I can just use the multimelta retributor model but I'd rather use that one for retributor squads (if I ever field one). glayvin34
No wonder I couldn't find them, they're in the Fast Attack section. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/173419-no-melta-sob-model/#findComment-2049687 Share on other sites
jakehunter52
No wonder I couldn't find them, they're in the Fast Attack section. :) Yeah, I feel ya. They are just trying to flesh things out a bit. Would feel kinda funny if everything were under Troops. But funny that you mention this, have you ever thought of converting your own melta? I mean, for a long time, I thought I was going to have to myself. I even did a Heavy Flamer conversion and was planning to for the meltas but then I got a good job and changed my list so i don't have to. But do you think that converting some of the flamers to meltas would look good? ArmouredWing
Here' a good piece of advice for a meltagun sister. Buy the metal meltagun pack that GW have got on their bitz menu and then take the flamer wielding sister and cut the flamer nozzle off and then glue one of the meltagun barrels on in its place. The other alternative that yo can also use is take a bolter sister that is easy to cut the gun off (there are a couple of examples out there) and then pin & glue a meltagun on. It's by far the cheapest option as the meltagun sisters are dear on GW and you won't get them much cheaper on ebay either! - 7eAL -
Space Marine players should theoretically have piles of spare plastic to work ArmouredWing's suggestion, whether they're meltas or plasmas or plain bolters ... glayvin34
Yeah, I am actually considering converting my flamer sister to melta, particularly considering how I will use them. I've got extra meltaguns, so I was considering chopping off the flamer's nozzle and replacing it with the characteristic meltagun barrel, and removing the tank and replacing it with the cable that goes under the melta. Then there's a slim chance I will also file the side of the flamer and replace with a (carefully!) removed melta charge pack that goes on the side. - 7eAL -
You're going to add the melta charge pack and runner cable too? Well that's dedication to production standards if I ever saw it! :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/173419-no-melta-sob-model/#findComment-2053339 Share on other sites
