Darkseer
I stumbled across this accidentally. From what I can gather it is a graphic novel. But I've never heard it mentioned before. It's written by Dan Abnett so I presume it's good? Please advise. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/173420-lone-wolves/ Share on other sites
Inquisitor_Sterngold
It is an older graphic novel by Dan Abnett which tells the story of a group of Space Wolves & some Imperial Guard. I won't ruin the story but I really liked it. The one I've got is a hardback graphic not sure if they did a paperback version. Well worth a read if you can get hold of it. TeamLando
Lone Wolves is an awesome comic to read for any son of Russ. Damn, the story is short and simple but still of Abnett quality, and the drawings, damn damn damn! They're great. Great inspiration for converting Space Wolves, especially bikers. Great read, I got it off a Swedish webstore last year, damn lucky I was that they had it in stock :D Too bad it's expensive and such, but there's always Ebay and other ways I guess? Google it and it should give you some previews atleast and you'll see if it's worth buying (which it damn well is!) <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/173420-lone-wolves/#findComment-2049732 Share on other sites
Vassakov
I was lucky enough to pick it up from my local library a while ago. A corking good read, wholeheartedly recommended. Bizarrely, WILD (the library database) thinks that words associated with "Lone Wolves" includes Peter, tenderness, Mister and nice. Not sure how, but nevermind. Coverfire
Is it Space Wolves or 13th Company? I always thought it was the 13th Co. myself, but then again I haven't looked at it since 2005 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/173420-lone-wolves/#findComment-2049863 Share on other sites

spacewolflars
The book "Lone Wolves" is a collection of the short stories that come from the warhammer monthly comic. So, you could try to see if you could get the individual comics that it came from. You wouldn't get the cool cover art, But you'd get to read the story, which is honestly pretty good. And as far as I can tell it isn't 13th company. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/173420-lone-wolves/#findComment-2049888 Share on other sites
OnlyInDeath
Damn, I was really really wanting to get my hands on this....I guess my collection of lore will have to go lacking unless I can get insanely lucky finding it in a store around here. No way my poor butt can afford a $200 grapic novel lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/173420-lone-wolves/#findComment-2050016 Share on other sites
G. A. K.
Are you serious, $200?? I got mine off eBay about a year ago for like $30. And at the time I thought it was a bit steep for such a thin graphic novel, but I had to have anything Space Woves. Looks like I got a steal :) The story it great by the way. Awesome artwork throughout. Although don't get confused, its mostly about the guard with the wolves playing a smaller role until the last third of the story. When I first read it I was like; "Were are the wolves?" G Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/173420-lone-wolves/#findComment-2050036 Share on other sites

SeanyPrawny
I got this a few months back for I think it was £35. I was loath to spend more but after reading it (soft back) I would have gladly spent up to £100 for such an awesome story. Granted its a short read but the feel of it playing through your mind as your reading it makes you wanna howl to the moon. Damn it gonna have to go read it again now lol, gonna end up milking it at this rate (not likely possible). Genuinely good read. Vassakov
Darkseer, if you just want to read it and have a library card I just ran a search for copies in London Libraries on their Website and found 6 copies in various libraries. Sure, it's not the same as owning it but at least you can read it.
