karamazov question

I think karamazov is prety cool, just had a question on wording. does karamazov's servo skull let him buy a psycic power? his entry describes him as not being able to purchase aditional equipment, but the servo skull (familiar) alows him to buy an extra power. if so (and im guesing that he cannot) hamerhand would actualy be an awesome power (omg!).

no, it doesn't allow you to buy an extra one it allows you to use an extra one per turn, so since he has no powers he cannot get them. You take him as is, nothing extra.

eh? the entry for familiar states "for each familiar the Inquisitor has in his retinue, he may purchase one more power than is normally allowed"

karamazov's entry says 2 things I think are relevant to this

1) "karamazov and his retinue are treated as one individual model" [skipping ahead a bit] "the inquisitor lord is also accompanied by a servo-skull familiar"

2)"He may not be given additional equipment from the witch hunters armory"

arguments that he can:

-the psychic powers are not listed under, or ever linked to the armory in the WH book

-even if they do count as armory items, the special rules of the familiar allow him to purchase one more than he is usually allowed (0+1)

I am actually convincing myself a bit that he can.... ;)

I think in a tourney setting, you may be correct, that would probably be the ruling.

However, to me, he is described 'below' as having a servo-skull and not an unusual, only initiative modifying servo-skull. I am asking all this as I am getting him for my brothers =][=/marine ally force at some point. I will most likely let him take a power, as it certainly doesn't seem overpowering.

if you're just going to ignore everything anyone says in regards to the issue why even ask the question? you've obviously already made your decision.

I dunno, he is the only monsterous creature with a master crafted weapon (well, I supose there is warp time, and fortuned eldar MC's....). he can move unhindered through terain to bring his twin linked multimelta to bear on unsuspecting armor. And with the introduction of run, he can acually stand a chance of geting into melee.

I guess I'm a fan
