Hail brothers,

i am very much new to warhammer, so this is very much a rules question(search failed me ><).I saw someone in my local gamestore consolidate his bloodclaws back into the landraider they had popped out of after decimating the guardsman squad in a charge. Is that legit? casue that just sounds crazy awesome.

Exactly......That is an old 3rd edition move. Some people get the rules mixed up between different editions.....and then some people just cheat. :)

It's also PRECISELY the reason why the rule was amended (in 4th ed. I believe, maybe just now in 5th).

It basically made high grade assault squads able to take out practically anything in the assault phase and then simply re-embark back into their transport vehicle, relatively safe from enemy return fire --> not fair, not fun.

Ouch, I did this in an apocalypse game not too long ago when I consolidated into a bunker after taking out a unit of Blood Angels.

As it was there was nobody alive nearby to shoot back because our team took out 8,500 points of models in that turn alone but I will remember this for the future.

Hmmm, I'm actually not sure if this is the same case when you have a bunker. If it says to treat it as if you boarding a vehicle, then ok, rule stands. If, however, it is treated like terrain, then you are very much so allowed to consolidate into it. Consolidation, allows you to enter into cover after a combat, so as to not get the living crap shot out of you in the ensuing shooting phase. It even works like running, where you dont have to roll 2d6 for difficult terrain, you just roll your d6 and use that distance.

But yeah, does anyone have the rulebook handy on how to treat bunkers? doesnt come up often enough for me to really know.

It WAS fun if you were the one doing it!

Not fun when the opponent decided to smack you around the head for it though..

As for bunkers, Id check the BRB, and failing that, ask the store manager what the house ruling is. Nice and easy
