derekbadger
Mate of mine was playing a game where this came up: Unit of IG veterans embarked in a Chimera. He wanted to shoot the Chimera's guns at one target and later on wanted to then shoot the embarked veterans (from fire points) at a different target. Opponent claimed that the embarked Vets and the Chimera were essentially the same unit so had to fire at the same target. A quick look thru the rule book yielded nothing specific, so they diced off to see what would be allowed this time. Seems obvious to me that of course they can shoot at different targets as they are separate units, no where does it say embarked units and transports count as the same unit. Anyone have any thing to contradict this? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/173840-shooting-with-units-embarked-in-a-transport/ Share on other sites
Legatus
From the rulebook FaQ on Games-Workshop.com: "Q. Must passengers fire at the same target that their vehicle is firing at? A. No, they are a separate unit (albeit they are temporarily co-existing with the vehicle) and so can fire at a different target."
