CrazyCanuk Posted July 21, 2009 Share Posted July 21, 2009 With a big local tournament coming up, I decided to take this opportunity to try and hammer out my Raven/Death wing DIY army. Yeah its only like 30 models. But I am painting them all yellow. God help me Anywho one week in and most of my bikes are done. I still need to finish converting Sammael and paint another attack bike. I need to do some more detailing ont he weapons, but that is a last minute type thing that I am not too worried about right now. Priority 1 is to get all the actual base color down. I do have to give thanks to nordy for coming up with this scheme. I owe you a drink bud! ;) Right now I be working on the termies...all 14 of them at once. sgtNACHO Posted July 22, 2009 Share Posted July 22, 2009 I have yellow guardsmen and they don't seem to hard to paint, its just Golden yellow with Sunburst highlights. I've never done all yellow marines before, I'm sure its a whole different experience. I finally got around to this project again and have been working diligently on getting this army completed up as quickly as I can. The quicker I can get these to table standards, the quicker I can work on my next pet project (Space pups). At least there will be no huge pressures on getting them done quick. I am currently working on 15 Terminators to help flesh out this army. After these termies I have two apothecaries, an attack bike and a speeder to compelte. Here's hoping I can get everything done by the 30th! (Tournament!) Personally I think your Bold and Nuts! :P Seriously though, your yellow looks like it's been painted well and your terminators look REALLY good. CrazyCanuk Posted December 23, 2009 Author Share Posted December 23, 2009 To be fair I failed on the original goal of getting it done in three weeks. The goal was set back in July..so yeah. Although I got the bikes done in three weeks, so that has to be worth something. With the goal to get the terminators done by the 30th its almost like a speed painting session. Kinda. As for the yellow I cannot take all the credit. Unfortunatly I cannot remember the member of this forum I got the recipe from, but basically it's Iyanden Darksun then a healthy dose of yellow ink. Tis all. Relatively quick and a fantastic result. Not much work has been done in the past couple days due to getting all moved back home for the holidays.
