I hear some put one TH/SS in each 5 man but i just don't see the point as they only give one 4++ in combat per phase. Now if we got the mighty 3++ all the time I'd take one.

 

And praise be the mighty 3+ invulnerbale save, as it protects yee from the typically terrain sparse GW display table

I think the appeal of GK TH/SS units is getting more defense against walkers, not the increased save from the Storm Shield. Having your GKTs tarpitted by a Dreadnought does tend to ruin your day, so having some Strength 8 hits helps.

 

Personally, I'd rather have Hammerhand on the GKBC/GM leading the unit; that gives more attacks than a hammer, and hits on Initiative instead of Initiative one.

One quick question would you take TH + SS on your Terms?

I traditionally took 1 or 2 TH/SS termies in my squads for "just in case" purposes, like CQ noted.

 

Just note that what makes GKTs work is their basic kit: S6 power weapons at WS 5 and that go at normal initiative. I wouldn't want to mess to strongly with that. They are nowhere near as strong as basic Astartes in TH/SS configuration.
