Garmr
Hi to everyone! I'm new and i've started a space wolves army (Bran Redmow's Pack ). I've got 1000 point more or less (1 pack of Grey Hunters ,1 pack of Wolf Claws , Packs of Long Fangs and Ulrik and a rhino) and i don't know what to buy to increase my army . I thought that some assault terminators would be nice , but i'd like also one Dreadnought and one land raider for my QG and his wolf guard . What else can i put to have 1500 of space wolves? Another pack of Grey Hunters? I've started also to make some nice works on my wolves , this is my favourite one : http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/882/lupogrigio003.jpg With his power fist he broke one Leman Russ in a match against the imperial guard :D . I've done also a new base for Ulrik because he is shorter than the other wolves and soon i'll put some photos . This is all for now and sorry for my bad english! For the Wolf Time ! Forseti
Would be safer to wait until we know what we're getting in the new codex, but it looks like you've bought what will most definately be in the new dex ^^. But very nice work on the hunter ^^ gets tiring sometimes when everythings made to look like the cover of the box XD *raises his tankard* keep up the good work! As for what to buy next, dreadnoughts are always a welcome addition ;p Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174050-greetings-brothers/#findComment-2057307 Share on other sites
Garmr
I'm glad you like my grey hunter ,i hope to do some other works on them . Thanks a lot for your advices too ! I think that i will buy a dreadnought after the release of the new codex and later some of the new grey hunter's kit. Tomorrow i hope to take a shot of Ulrik on his new base . Border Prince
Welcome to the Fang, do you want a tankard of Ale or a tankard of Mead? Or do you perhaps want a tankard or two of each? *Runs away to fetch a tankard for Garmr and a barrel for himself.* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174050-greetings-brothers/#findComment-2057606 Share on other sites
TeamLando
Greetings Brother, and welcome to the fang! The wolf sure looks cool, although I'm a no-helmet wolfplayer myself :) And yeah, well if you've gotten that many minis already, be sure to wait for the new ones before you buy any more I'd say ;) And be sure to file away those mold lines! :) I tend to forge/miss that myself! spjaco
Awesome model. Cant wait to see it painted. Not only that but it is about time someone started putting "nids" up as trophies other than the Ultra's (which I always wondered about, after all where in their Codex does it say that taking trophies is approved, seems more like a wolf trait to me). Garmr
I'm back again brothers . Thanks a lot for your welcome ! I bought that minis from a friend because he didn't use them (he is an imperial guard player) so i will buy other things after the release of the new codex :D. I'm just a little bit not sure of how i'll play them . I'd like to use them with a lot of rhinoes , land raiders and so on but i'd like also to strike from the sky with drop pods :D. I think that i will paint my points and wait 'til the new codex ,i'm really proud of my grey hunter :) , it seems that it's a good model :D ! Border Prince i'll take a tankard of ale and a tankard of mead ...twice :D! That's more likely due to the smurfs having a huge history connected to the nids. What's with Macragge and all that. Veterans of the nids war etc. But yeah, thropies is, othewise, our thing. Warhorse47
Welcome to the Fang! I'd get a Dreadnought, if you get a Ven Dread you can also use him as one of your HQs! DGC
Garmr, welcome to the fang brother. take a seat with your fellow wolves and drink well whilst we get aquainted It seems you have a strong force of core units. The decision to go all mech or pods is a hard one but as you don't have any pods at the moment, try a couple of friendlys with your mates and see how each unit works and supports each other. The next purchase for me would have to be obel scouts, I never leave the fang without them. Then I would look at some long range weapons, maybe a Predator or split your hunters and get a couple of Razorbacks and then a Dread but the choice is yours and as you will find, many of us here at the fang have our own style of combat - you will discover yours As the new dex is sooooo close I would hold of of getting too much until we are more certain on what is happening. It would be a shame to buy a load of minis and paint them up just to find as the laquer drys you are going to have to strip them down and start again And by the way, that is a cool looking mini. Keep it up For Russ, for the Wolftime DGC Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174050-greetings-brothers/#findComment-2057901 Share on other sites
TeamLando
Yeah, exactly, you should probably stick to the basics, like dreadsnoughts and such, thing that'd never be nerfed or made worse in the new dex. And scouts are cool, so you'd want them even IF they're nerfed :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174050-greetings-brothers/#findComment-2057921 Share on other sites
Vassakov
Hail to another Pup - may your Sagas be long and glorious. Also, who let DGC back in?!? *Passes ale to both Garmr and DGC* Righto pup, advice - get a couple of the core units (Grey Hunters, Blood Claws and Dreadnoughts) together and painted and wait to see how the new 'Dex pans out. Oh, and clean the mould lines - takes a few minutes to do it properly, but it massively improves the model! DGC
Thanks for the ale my friend. (a solid but friendly slap on the shoulder) Tell me, has the sound of battle or the rumours of the Wolftime dulled your senses brother?? I've have had my own missions to deal with but I am never far from the fang. If I'm not training my own pack or seeking provisions then you'll find me in the shadows, listening, watching, planning, learning. My opinions and words maybe few but I am always here - such is the life of a Scout :D Now I must be on my way again. Another mission I must plan Til next time For Russ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174050-greetings-brothers/#findComment-2058237 Share on other sites
Garmr
Hei brothers i'm back again . I've read all your words and i think that i'll wait the new codex before buying sometihng ! I like the lone wolves and sure i'll put in the army one day but now as now i wanted an assault army full of grey hunters and blood claws :D ! I really like Dreadnoughts and i think it will be my next choice . But i really don't know how to equip them :D! What kind of fast support do we use ? I'm thinking about planet strike expansions and i don't want to use assault squad (Leman Russ said that we have to fight with our foot on the ground :)). So we have to use only bikes and land speeder ? Or maybe we have to fall from the sky with drop pods ? However i have done those photoes on Ulrik http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/5445/ulrik006.jpg http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/6619/ulrik007.jpg I've just added a base on him :) he is taller and doesn't seem so little with other wolves! Let me pass to you brothers the next ale and mead and let's drink for Leman Russ and the Wolf time ! TeamLando
Nice! But beware the high bases, with the new 5th edition rules, they're not always welcome :/ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174050-greetings-brothers/#findComment-2058415 Share on other sites
