Insult on Black Reach

Recommended Posts

Inspired by an Apocalypse competition at the Papanurgle forums, I finally got started on my plaguereaper - here are some of the initial WIP pics:

I still need to add a bunch of green stuff work, a handful of nurglings, and fill the open tanks on the sides with nastiness.....

That is superb work and I think the 'adeptus battlegrey' of the armour is a much more fitting scheme than sick green. Makes me think the paint sloughed off down to the bare metal/ceramics of the power armour over time due to the pus and viscous acidic liquids that pop and spurt across the Plague Marines.

Im eagerly awaiting the Plaguereaper fella, good luck with it all and I think this is the first Nurgle army I actually like.

I really like what you have accomplished, there is just one small detail I'd like to point out.. They don't look gooey at all, maybe It's the idea of it. But I've always imagined Plague marines to be really wet and dirty.

Like: The cleaved or Death Guard

Maybe wash em down (not entirely) with Flesh wash and some Green Ink (if ya have it)

You missed the part where he said: "I still need to add a bunch of green stuff work, a handful of nurglings, and fill the open tanks on the sides with nastiness"

Considering the rhino from page 1, I can only assume we're in for quite a putrid treat.

Hi Rashia;

I am actually planning to hit them with Purity Seal, then using 'Ardcoat gloss varnish to make parts look slimy and wet. Just need to wait for it to be warm enough to go outside and spray anything! Thanks for the feedback!

And, I filled the Pus vats - sorry for the blurry pics, the camera had a hard time focusing on these.

I really like your marines... just one minor detail. Is the hull mounted h. bolter on the plague reaper not upsidedown? Or am I just blind.

Dallo

Hehehe... nice catch! I must have been spacing out when I put them together! I'll have to cut them off and re-attach them!

The putty that I am using is Magic Sculp - it is a two part putty similar to green stuff, but you can get two 2.5 lb. tubs for $25. Makes it much better for larger projects! Thanks for the feedback!

Here is an update of the finished pus cannon -I wanted to avoid the 'diseased phallus' look that the reaper in the apocalypse book has...

Here is a new side project I have started working on, again thanks to a contest on the Papanurgle forums...

Still very WIP at this point. I want to run a backbone down the connection to the bike, and I need to cover up the seat of the bike with biomechanica-type growths and such. I want lots of vents and hoses, etc. on the model too.

Interesting biker...normally I would be sighing at seeing such a whacked out model, but after watching what you are capable of with green stuff on your plague reaper I am really looking forward to what you produce!

Keep us updated.
