Grand Master Raziel Secundus
Hi folks My son was playing a game the other day, when the guy pulled out the rulebook and hit him with this... He said the part we already knew about, if you don't move you can either shoot twice up to 12" or once up to 24". But then he said if you've moved, you can only shoot up to 12". This implies that for instance if you move 6", you can only shoot up to 12". Bolters, a marines favorite weapon has a range of 24, but movement robs you of at least 6" range. So are we reading this right, or what? Cheers! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174061-need-to-clarify-rules-for-rapid-fire-weapons/ Share on other sites
Coyote
He's wrong. Have him see the diagram on Pg. 28 of the BRB. Then have him read it aloud to your son. JK Was this the case in 4th Ed. folks? LPetersson
He is correct. Turn to page 28 and read the 3rd paragraph which states that units which have not moved may shoot one shot at 24". So, for bolters you can choose: Don't move and shoot once at 24" Don't move and shoot twice at 12" Move and shoot twice at 12" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174061-need-to-clarify-rules-for-rapid-fire-weapons/#findComment-2057485 Share on other sites

IF he was saying you can only choose two shots at 12" after youve moved.... he would be correct. Frogstaff
Rapid fire weapons are pretty simple. You get one shot at maximum range (such as Krootguns on the Krootox, which are 48"). If you move, or if there are any targets within 12" then you get to fire twice.
