Pope
Having just finished the Wolf's Honour, I've begun to wonder, has there been any word of another Ragnar novel? Sorry if the question has been asked before, and from perusing the interwebs looking for info, I've seen there isn't a lot of love for our Wolf Brother Lightner. Even though the two Lightner Novels weren't quite up to par with Mr. Kings works of art, as a Space Wolf and admirer of anything Ragnar, some of the things mentioned in the final book lead me on to believe that there should be atleast another novel telling the great tales of the Wolf Lord Blackmane. On a side note, and not to be rambling, typing this in itself has got me thinking, what other Space Wolves would you like to see have their Heroics hashed out in novel form? I know there's many wolves here longer in the teeth than I and was wondering if you had heard anything I hadn't. A pint to all my brothers! Vash113
Well Wolf's Honour was supposed to be the last in the series, the conclusion of the Ragnar Blackmane Saga as far as the Black Library is concerned, maybe they will do another SW series about Ragnar later but I wouldn't hold my breath, however Prospero Burns is coming soon so it's not like the SW will never see another novel. Jonas Stromclaw
If vash is right, what's to stop one of us in the forum from continuing the story just for fun if they really wanted to? We have several excellent writers who could give an aspiring author advice (OID, Im looking at you). Because any new publication that even mentions past events with Ragnar has a significant potential of nullifying any said work. Usually established characters are best kept out of fan fiction and besides there's not more to tell. Ragnar becomes Berek's Wolf Guard Champion until Mikal returns and dies beside Berek and Ragnar takes his place, leading the Company into the future. Not a whole lot more to say really. Grey Mage
Id love to have a couple stories about other Wolf Lords... if only I could trust the authors to do so in a way that was both enjoyable and not over the top. Maybe we could have a little friendly competition or something to see who can come up with a good story or two... Pope
Not a whole lot more to say really. From what I understood, it was supposed to be the conclusion of the Whole Spear of Russ Story Arc. However, A novel concerning Ragnar's first battle as a wolf lord, would be interesting methinks. Also, in Wolf's Honour, Torvald mentions to Ragnar that they will meet again... Where's the closure? @brother-sargent-jacob- Sven was far and away one of my favorite characters throughout the entire series. Also, I enjoyed reading about Berek, further fleshing out some of his campaigns via novel would be amazing IMO. Someone should pitch an idea to BL and have an entire Wolf Lords series chronicling some of our Lords' great feats. I seem to have come across an untapped Keg of Brown Islands Ale, drink my brothers. Just because the series ended does not mean there is 100% closure. The Spear of Russ Story is also the story of Ragnar's rise through the ranks, there's nothing else to tell in that story really, at least nothing that could likely be made into another whole novel. However that doesn't mean we have seen the last of Ragnar, a new series about his exploits in modern day 40k as a Wolf Lord may be possible, or his inclusion in other SW books chronicling more recent events. Ya never know, but the previous series is finished. With respect to Torvald don't forget, that may be something touched on by the new Codex (still unclear what role the 13th will play in the new book), and the 13th Company came forth from the Eye of Terror during the 13th Black Crusade, a very recent event in 40k History, and possibly the time when they meet again. jamsight
If they get an auther with tallent who is intrest in continuing the story then it will happen. for example James Swallows's Deus Emcarmine was great so he got the job of writing more, it's all cost and expences Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174110-ragnar-novels/#findComment-2075694 Share on other sites
