Exorcist Marines

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm starting this force as a break from painting up greenskins. I'm a xeno loving heretic, but painting all that green and black on my Goffs is getting redundant.

Here is my first, mostly finished tac squad sgt for the fifth company. The loincloth looks a bit rough and I'll probably work on that later but I think the red looks good. I didn't want it to bright so I went with red gore highlighted with blood red and washed with baal red. I used a purple ink after the first coat of red gore then painted red gore on again leaving the inked parts inbetween the armor plates etc. Let me knwo what you think.

I'm going to paint my sons of orar like that. I love how you painted it so the armour looks almost soft (to me, anyways). So, is what you said in your post all there is to it?

edit: ah, one criticism: the drilled out barrels are so small it looks like it fires airsoft BB's, not the grenade launcher shells a bolter fires...

Krylon grey primer, Merchite red base, red Gore, Purple ink(thinned of course), red gore leaving the ink in between the armor pieces, then blood red highlights and a baal red wash. That's pretty much it.

I may try my hand at a freehand chapter symbol but I had planned on printing them out on decal paper and just doing it that way.
