Wolf Leaving the Fang

Its been awhile since I posted.. but I figured I should get around to this sooner or later.

It would figure that as soon as a new codex is on its way, I get an offer on my SW Army. So, it is with a heavy heart that I am hanging up my drinking horn and departing from the Fang.

Thanks to everyone that has made this place like a second home for me online. Hope the new codex does all we want it to. Maybe, someday, I will get around to picking up another 40k army and take some of you up on the offer of a game. :)

*swings his hammer mightily and sounds a great gong as thralls wind hunting horns mournfully* May you depart this Fortress in peace, and come back to it refreshed, ready again to do battle for the All-Father and Russ... Whether now, or at the Wolf-Time, we will see you again, Brother.

In all seriousness, sad to see you go, your posts have been useful to me, and I hope you fare well!

I will still log on from time to time, especially after the new codex is out. I just dont have the time to play, and really lack the interest in the game I used to have. The bug will probably bite me again at some point, but gotta take the offer while its there.

I usually game at Compleat, but spend some time at the Haven (usually for Flames of War).

Still working on joining up with the USAF, but it is (hopefully) coming soon.

Well good luck in the warp brother. We'll hold your place for you here in case you ever stumble back. And if you meet Russ on your travels tell him I've still got his favourite ale horn safe and sound.

Seriously though. Sad to see a brother wolf go but these things are meant to be.

I know that feeling, where evrything just doesn't seem funny any more. I've had two stabs of that knife, once in '99 with fantasy, and then again in 2003 with 40k. However, in 2007 I started again with some 40k and I just bought my first Dwarf in over a deace (!) last month, just to Paint him, I told myself.

But I know I'm lying.

For me, Warhammer is this life-loing hobby thing. Sure, I won't spend all my years on earth painting minis, but I also know for sure that I won't ever quit it alltogether. Been proved twice, so I guess three could be a charm, but I don't think so.

I do recomend you not to sell your minis though.. the used-price usually's crappy compared to the original cost and paintjob, and time, and if you ever find youself wanting to play a round of buy some minis in the future you'll regert selling your old army off.. belive me, I've done that mistake twice too xD

(I always kept my wolves though :) space wolf-player to the core! Sold them orcs instead)

With that, I'd wish you

Good luck with whatever's it is your'e planning to do from here on out.

I actually sold and then bought back my wolves and black legion. I sold my dwarfs as well, but they went on ebay so there's no getting them back.

I agree with Lando. Don't sell your minis. In the long run, the few hundred dollars you'll get will be nowhere near what they're worth and you'll regret it in years to come.

Just stick them on a shelf until the bug bites you again. It may be some time, but I would think that you'll want to play some time down the line.

Thanks for all the replies! I had no idea so many people actually read what I wrote.

I think you guys have the right idea. Going to try to clear out the units that are 'older' models (dont care for them with 5th rules the way they are), get rid of some of the tanks I never use (Land Raiders being a prime example), and hold on to the rest until the new codex comes out.

Guess you all get to keep me around a bit longer.

*begins thwacking anything not moving to make a loud racket in celebration*

Bugger, guess that means we better hide the celebration cake!
