To good to be true?

Grey Knight Titans cannot possibly exist as no survivors have ever reported a sighting of them. Even the inducted guardsmen who fought alongside the Grey Knights and the innocent civilians in the area were unfortunatly killed in a last minute ambush by Chaos scum just at the brink of victory or suffered a mysterious head wound and had to be mind wiped and turned into a servitor so that their brave sacrifice was not in vain.

They will be remembered as Heroes of the Imperium every last one.

At least that's what the Inquisitor told me and his Arbites squad said I should believe him and move along quietly.....

So, the Grey Knights were fighting their way towards Aragorn, were they? :(

I recall coming up before. The picture at least. I am not too sure about those jump pack figures in the background, however, since as for as I recall it was 100 Grey Knights in TDA during the conflict. Which seems to be contradicted by the artists 200 quote. I have not read the 1st war fluff in a while though.

The Return of the King Emperor?

1st War includes the Space Wolves, supported by a company of 100 Knights Terminators led by a Grand Master Aurellian. A handful of Grey Knights survived, amongst them including Mandulis who according to the Ben Counter books later became a Grand Master himself and led a force of 300 Knights on a campaign on a Daemon world. How anybody could purity an entire planet is unbelievable in and of itself.

Titans companies, regardless of class, are always operated by the Adeptus Mechanicus aren't they?

As far as proper ownership and operation is concerned, nobody else can touch them - a Princeps is tied directly to the machine and exposed to its Machine Spirit, and the only individuals qualified and knowledgeable enough to do so are a handful trained and taught by the Adeptus Mechanicus.

What puzzles me are the fluff on the grey knight numbers.

When the ultras lost their whole first company, some 100 marines that was seen as a terrible loss but here we have GK fluff saying they waste troops by the hundreds on pointless suicide charges. What is up with all that anyway, do they have some tree where grey knights in full terminator armour are growing or what?

Nope, it's just an indication of the seriousness of their mission. Any failure by the Grey Knights will result in a permanent warp breach. Grey Knights do not grow on trees, nor are they in any way dispensable, but the implications for their failure are just that bad.

Its really hard to pine over the loss of something that you never knew you had

so when will we finally get a combined inquisition codex?

Probably (and hopefully) never. There will be at least two codices, probably Codex: Sisters of Battle and Codex: Grey Knights. Maybe Inquisition and Assasins as another one, or as a mini-dex in WD....

We know close to nothing.
