Blast Weapons and Chaos Dreadnought

Is there any reason, if forced by fire frenzy to target your own troops, that you couldn't place a blast marker only covering a single model or a tiny portion of the hull of a vehicle and then hope/pray for a lucky bit of scattering?

As long as the central hole of the blast template is entirely over the model's base/hull and obeys the rest of the targeting rules, you can place it as you like. It can work well enough if you have your models well spaced anyway, but I'd just go for pairing up Dreadnoughts and making sure the closest target is the other Dread (this assumes that you have gone for the Missile Launcher option rather than the Plasma Cannon though).
