Gaeus Marius
I've seen some truly awesome armies and conversions on this site, but a just a showcase doesn't quite cut it, if you'll excuse the pun. What inspires you? What are your sources of conversion material? examples and pics are welcome, but I'm looking for some good dialog here as well. Hopefully I will be inspired as well to get back to MY wolves. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174569-converting-the-wolves/ Share on other sites
Growler67
For me this is the part of this and similar hobbies (model building) I find easy. The creative parts. Imagination and finding inspiration by Googling things all the time. I can envision all kinds of things and in many cases build or convert them. My painting skills on the other hand just plain stink. Putty, spare bits and parts all add to custom mods. I like to replicate and update modern weapons and add that individualized touch that make mine NOT run of the mill. It's hard to simply just list things out, but I'd be happy to discuss any specific questions you might have. For the most part, you have to decide what turns you on and go with the flow. If you like long hair and braids, or mohawks or whatever, start there and "personalize" each model to reflect that particular passion. Gaeus Marius
I was actually looking to convert some models with long hair, and yes, I love braids. Growing up on a reservation will do that to ya. I cannot seem to sculpt them at all though, not even beards. I can do passable wolf pelts, and my guys reflect that. I'm going to emphasize the Close Combat aspect of the SW. Are there any tutorials out there on the beards/long hair/braids? What are some good sources of CC weapons? I'm allready using some chaos chainswords.. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174569-converting-the-wolves/#findComment-2063765 Share on other sites

spacewolflars
For braids, I've got a few that I actually braided three thin strips of green stuff. Another way to do it is to take a strip of green stuff and put X es onto it. If you want some different looking weapons, I took a box of Khorne berserkers and cut off the bunny ears and filed down the Khorne symbols and VIOLA, Blood Claws. That gives you a few chain axes and more vintage looking bolt pistols. I also replaced the chaos backpacks with regular space marine backpacks.
