Inquisitional Titan

Recommended Posts

Interesting discussion.

A friend pointed me to this thread which finally got me to register here. Thanks, Acc !

The Titan is mine.

Thanks for the warm words on the modelling and painting. Venator Rex approves.

I do know that it is not usual within the background of 40K to have =I= Titans.

That being said:

-Before the game Inquisitor it would have been inconceivable to imagine an Inquisitor actually working with a Daeomhost (of all things)

-Relictors using warp artefacts ? C`me on.

What I am trying to say is that the background is full of contradictions and that this is fine. I know for a fact that the GW studio uses the rule-of-cool in many instances. Yes, a lot of things in 40k don`t look possible/make no sense. Titans are actually a very good example. But damn, if it`s cool enough, who cares ?

I have my own justification for the Titan. I also brought my version of =I= Kryptman (with two friends) to the Golden Demon competition. (They only made the first cut).

As I see it Monsieur Kryptman, who is one of the most prominent Inquisitors in the galaxy, saved a vital Forgeworld from the Great Devourer.

Out of gratitude the Fabricator General lent him the might of two Titans as long as Kryptman is alive to help the war against the Hive Fleets.

To honour Kryptmans iconic role in saving the Forgeworld, he was also granted the unheard of right to adorn the God Machines with inqusitorial heraldry.

I think that stealth and undercover work would not be important to an Inquistor fighting the Tyranids. That`s why I can imagine it working.

I don`t think however that cost-effectiveness on such a small scale would affect an Inquisitor trying to save the whole galaxy from annihiliation.

I have been almost exlusively working on Tyranids for quite a few years. It is nice for me to get some balance by working on the counterpart, the Ordo Xenos and the Deathwatch.

Venator Rex has meanwhile gotten a base and a banner which underlines it`s allegiance to the Machine God and it`s fight against The Great Devourer in a poem. It wasn`t quite finished for the Demons, now it`s done.

I do own another FW Reaver though.............

I'm just glad somebody out there with mad modelling skillz has seen fit to honor the Inquisition with such an awesome piece of work.

As you note, GW itself has not been consistent with its fluff. They have always been more keen to design models first and justify them later. Heck, they even admitted to doing exactly this when they design their codexes and army books! (E.g., Vampire Counts.)

I hope you get hooked on the Inquisition enough to stick around here for a while.

Hive Fleet Moloch! Welcome to Warpsha.... I mean, welcome to Bolter and Chainsword! While I did get to see that beautiful Warhound in person, that GW GD photo links also does show it nicely - much better than what I managed to capture on film.

(You'll find me hanging around the Apocalypse and Adeptus Mechanicus forums - for obvious reasons...)

Looking forward to your photos of =I= Kryptman, and rest of the Ordo Xenos and the Deathwatch you've been working one.

But a Reaver? Can it top Gold? :D

Just to point out, though I love a good fluff debate, this is drifting a little.

There will always be arguements each way. I think that it may be possible, albeit hard and very rare, for an Inquisitor to 'acquire' a titan. How long he keeps it before someone catching on, however, is a different story. In fact it could make for an interesting campaign.

Fluff aside, that titan is a tremendous bit of work.
