Valhalla
The "problem" with top-knots is that it's more or less the only way for GW to do "long" hair on sprue-heads, so to say. I guess they can't make long hair downwards since it's bound to fit differently dependning on what kind of arms, backpack or weapon the marine will carry.I think they'll make up for this with the metal minis (as seen previously with models like the wulfen or rune priest, who had some dreadlocks and braids and stuff never seen or the plastic heads). I think the faces are great though. Over the top is the way of the space wolves, and I'll prefer "too much and over the top" over "to litte, no effort" any day, soo... :) That might be true but one can find a lot of good heads out there if you want models with flowing long hair and beards. I use a lot of bits from Fantasy Chaos such as the Marauder Horsemen (love the 2 guys with Mohawks and the guy with the eye patch) and there are even some good heads in the Empire flagerents (forgive my bad spelling). Grey Mage
Ever seen a 5th edition WFB Brettonian knights head? They have a coif that goes down over a quarter inch fromt he head- just fine for longer head, considering it reaches the middle of their back. Yeti
The fundamental problem with long hair on space marines of any type is the back pack. That means that either the hair has to go up (top knots or mohawks) or around the front (pony tails). I'd much rather see regular length hair that is messy with big muttonchops or beards. But that's just personal preference. As for getting long hair into a SM helmet ... just look at the hair of astronaut Julie Payette. If she can get that into a NASA helmet, marines shouldn't have any problems. :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174605-upcoming-new-plastic-wolves/page/2/#findComment-2066502 Share on other sites
Lord Howland Greywolf
I for one found that cutting off the topknot of the old head and then sticking it on. The fact that it can only lay in a certain direction can give movement to the head, espesialy if they are weilding a chainsword.
