Motivation needed.

Basically I'm lacking muse to get painting my stuff for the Great Hunt. Not that I can actually enter my room at the minute so use this thread to tell me what a worthless dog I am and get me into a painting mood.

You can say anything as I won't take it seriously if its in this thread.

Ahhh, the landraider, pff, did I hate painting that thing, its still not done but i'm close

As for motivation, its a nice tank when done :o

And of course the nice little wolf skull ;)

She's pretty. Mine's a standard pattern. And I'm not a big fan of the sponsons at the front but that's my personal opinion and I know about the extra couple of inches and it's easier to surround. But if you still have guys in your Raider when they're that close, what's gone wrong? And then I want to add another three of the silly tanks to my company!

Anyway I've got an airbrush/compressor I just need to get round to painting it. I've done the sponsons and the tracks.

Paint it...

Paint it now...

I can't paint it now, but you're getting me motivated. I need some money for paints and stuff. And I might need to be able to get into my room.

And any suggestions for Long Fang pack loadouts from the one box of Devastators I might buy this weekend? Eventually they'll be reassigned to anti-tank and anti-personnel packs but you can't really make an effective pack from one box to fit one role.

That's awesome Max. Mine are magnetised but just for storage reasons.

Forgive the double post but a serious question. I have a whirlwind that's been undercoated and has a bit of shadow grey paint on it. This was due to me running out of paint. The question is have I done too much work on it to enter the challenge with it?

Sorry if this seems cheeky but it needs painting and it's perfect to inspire me.

Well, I have a half done Wolf Priest who I need to finish so I'd say it's fine, but check with Max first.

As for the raider, paint it in sub assemblies. Don't worry too much about the whole thing, just try to do 1 bit in an evening. That way it isn't as daunting!

as for music while your painting, so far these tracks http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=F0A0EA37B01311F4

have helped me allot recently, cheers wolf brother! and goodluck!

Holy cow that is some impressive stuff.

Anyway as for motivation, the end is what drives me, the satisfaction of finishing and having the end result in front of you. I was just slogging through painting my Baneblade recently and good lord that was a drag but I got through it and finished the model and now it's pure awesomeness. If I can't get motivated with the thought I'll drag out some of my painted stuff and sit it infront of me till the constant reminder drives me to get painting.

Cheers guys was at work today about to buy up tonnes of Shadow Grey and lo and behold we had one pot left. Now I need four more pots but my boss was like we had one pot last week so I didn't order it which is fair enough, just upsetting because I was going to make a huge batch up for spraying.
Look at some of your finished stuff and that will help you get going!

Well not really because my finished stuff still looks really rubbish because I can;t really paint to save my life. And I still need to get some paint.

You and I must be related!

i would say brothers cause i'm in the same boat!

WLK

Of course we're related! We're all wolf-brothers with the sacred gene-seed of Russ in our bodies.

Or we're all descended from the same single celled organism/Adam and Eve. (Your pick)

Yeah dyspraxia sucks, it makes the hobby life incredibly difficult.

Play, and then play some more.

I find that the more games I get in, the more I want to field a fully painted army...

Unfortunately that will not help greatly in this case because it's for my apocalypse force which we don't play often.

I really want to paint now but I have to wait for the paints to come in!

Set a date for yourself where you know you will have the time to sit down and get a good start. When you make this date treat it like a job interview or a real date with a friend, meaning let nothing distract you. Then like a date make sure you have everything ready to go before you start, paint, brushes, models, know what colors you plan to use ahead of time and where you plan to apply those colors. Setup some coffee or Fav drink, Find yourself some good music or my personal favorite a good audio book.

Sit down and start right away don't think about how big of a job you got ahead, but rather enjoy the painting of each model and it being another bite out of the perverbial elephant.

Thats my formula for success.
