Martox
Ave fraters. Whilst I think the new Ironclad kit looks great for the most part, I could not stand the look of the seismic hammer as standard. Wanting an Ironclad for my tournament army, I decided I best convert one that I think is suitable of the title. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/Martox/ironclad.jpg Other problems came with the shooty weapons, since I made the hands straight on, the fingers blocked the storm bolter and the hammer got in the way of the melta gun. Silly me. So, I underslung them, forgeworld style. The Iron Snake, my test model for the army, is there for scale purposes. C&C most welcome. Cheers. turelhim vampire
Excellent work - much better than the stock model. One tiny gripe is that the hammer head is a little too big - but that is only my opinion. If you like it that size then I cannot find fault with that model :o Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174738-ironclad-dreadnought/#findComment-2065704 Share on other sites
Hubernator
Nah, that hammer is the right size, it just needs some spikes on the faces so it really can smash :o Nice work on that, simple yet very effective and straight to the point :) Dreadnought Smash! Iron Phoenix
Looks good! although I agree about the hammer, and I wonder whether the description doesn't better suit itself to a piston-driven mechanism than a swinging bashing piece. lotsa_terminators
Pleeeeeeeeeeease paint it green with purple legs :( Seriously though, cool concept, I'm doing something similar with a giant plasticard sword for my BT Dread. However, that hammer needs bling, spikes and such. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174738-ironclad-dreadnought/#findComment-2066206 Share on other sites
FuriousFerret
This is a very interesting concept, though I, too, think the description of the seismic hammer lends it more to a pneumatic jackhammer thing. Also, perhaps the hammer head is a bit too large? it seems unwieldy.
