first space wolves conversions

Hi guys,

Here are my first Space Wolves conversions.

I'm really, really proud of these, so scything criticism and heart shattering scepticism is welcomed! lol :(

I basically mixed a box of Space marine Scouts with Marauder Horsemen to get Wolf Scouts!

It was relatively easy in some parts and a hair tearing nightmare in others.

I've written up a complete conversion guide for anyone thinking of doing the same.

The link to my photos won't work, so checkout the wolf scouts conversions on my blog.

Yes, please tell us where you got the heads from. I do not like the heads shown in the previewed Space Wolf models released thus far.

I quite like the Pole Axe and you have made some nice poses there with some good use of the extra blades and grenades; but I believe that the heads are what stand out about them the most.

Darkseer,

The look great, you should be proud. I especially like the guy with the two-handed axe. Well done. Too bad I've already got a unit of Scouts that I am happy with; I don't think I will bother with making another unless there is something surprising in the new codex.

Yup, that's the marauders heads alright. Theyä're really cool, too bad though that many of the heads from the sprue has got helmets on them. Then again, many don't .. so :D

You scouts looks great Darkseer, but I gotta warn you, you still got some sculpt lines here and there. Be sure to remove them before you start the painting :D

good work! I see you and I had the same idea on the flails for our wolf scouts! If you're interested, i'm doing roughly the same conversion and would love to get some advice and talk shop with you, as i'm running into a few difficulties which I think you may have found ways over.

My only suggestion is some of the heads seem VERY similar or close.. If you feel up to it, I'd try sculpting on some hair, scalp-locks (basically a mohawk, but the length is pulled back into a long ponytail) etc.. That is the only critique I can find. Though, height might be an issue for you, but i'm not sure. Wolf Scouts should, in all technicality be as tall as regular SM or VERY close (armor may make some difference).

Awesome work though, inspired me to work on mine when I can replace my xacto and get stuck in again!

awesome job on the scouts...the horsemen heads look alot cooler than the heads from the marauders box that i used. I like the braided beards and cant GS em to save my life...I might have to take your idea and run with it on my scouts, mine look kinda goofy now that ive seen yours, not very wolfy.

this ales for you!!

Conversion look really cool. Shame your not going to take your Wolves to the GT heat 1 under the current codex (as a last ride thing before new codex) would have been nice to see the army in the flesh.

Also yes Marauder Horsemen box a very good thing for Wolves player. A staff as I know (& work with last year) has use them on pretty much all of his Space Wolves & each one look great. Really work well between Blood Claw to Grey Hunters!!! :D

Cheers IP.

My wolves just won't get done in time. But I'll be there with my Tau. Come over and say hi. Been seeing you bouncing around the forums for as long as I can remember.

Ahh but that what the GT about :tu: Painting to the very last min on the day.

I just snagged those heads from a bitz company I know of and I was gonna use 'em for my Grey hunters and a couple of Wolf Guard in PA, but now that I saw your scouts......Shoot, I can spend another $10 and use 'em on both! Great conversions, and Great inspiration man.
