chaplain belisarius
Hi, was thinking of doing a renegade marine chapter but am also considering going IW but am unsure if a lord with a jumppack is in character for IW. Any thoughts? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174808-iron-warriors/ Share on other sites
Vissah
Well I been reading Horus Rising and when the tenth was attacking the Whisperheads they were using jumppacks to get into higher positions and to get into the upper levels quick. So if you look at it this way the Iron Warrios or your succesoor can use jumppacks cause when they are sieging they can get up there quick while the canons are pounding on the door :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174808-iron-warriors/#findComment-2066512 Share on other sites
minigun762
Hi, was thinking of doing a renegade marine chapter but am also considering going IW but am unsure if a lord with a jumppack is in character for IW. Any thoughts? I think its fine for either Renegades or Iron Warriors. You could go with old heresy era ones (which are supposed to be more rare and better) or current verisions (easily stolen from Loyalists) or some warp-spawned version. Tactically however, Wings are better because you can still fit inside a transport with them. Corpse.
Meltabombs and Jump pack lords are a fine start, decide whatever weapon comes after be it daemon weapon or twin claws. (I prefer the daemon weapon personally, and never run him alone against a target) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174808-iron-warriors/#findComment-2067037 Share on other sites

LuNCHBiZZLe
I would use the old 2nd ed raptor wings. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174808-iron-warriors/#findComment-2067759 Share on other sites
Dawkins
I never left home without a jump pack lord for my IW's until the dice gods rejected me one too many times. Now its demon princes or bust. incinerator950
twin claws, or demon weapon with Melta bombs I'd go for wings because of being able to jump in a transport Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174808-iron-warriors/#findComment-2068392 Share on other sites
LuNCHBiZZLe
I run Lord MoT(I know not fluffy)deamon weapon and wings,it's cheap and effective. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174808-iron-warriors/#findComment-2070456 Share on other sites

LuNCHBiZZLe
yeah if anything the JP is fluffier than the wings going with the tech aspect of IW and IDK how the Tzeench deamon weapon sucks(d6 shots at AP3 and d6 extra attacks with a power weapon in H2H) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/174808-iron-warriors/#findComment-2071137 Share on other sites

Argon
I run Lord MoT(I know not fluffy)deamon weapon and wings,it's cheap and effective. There's plenty of ways to justify marks that seem unfluffy. Your Warsmith isn't chosen by Tzeench, he has some kind of technology that sheilds him from harm. Heck, big guns like the Tzeench daemon weapon are extremely fluffy for the Iron Warriors. I run a Lord on a Bike so it is definatly worth it if I can shoot and assault hardcore with it :D If it is the case that you can shoot D6 and in CC attack D6 then I know were to spend my last 15 points at :) So is it really true that you can shoot it and use it in CC with both D6 bonus? Yes. It is a daemon weapon that may also be fired as a gun, not a daemon weapon that IS a gun. LuNCHBiZZLe
No,you wont get the +1 str as you are now marked but IMO the d6 shots at AP-3 are worth loosing the +1 str. Argon
That's mainly what I go with just wish I could give him a servo arm again  True. I didn't realize how horrible this current Codex is till I read the previous one. Truly a horrible move on the part of GW. I didn't realize how horrible this current Codex is till I read the previous one. Truly a horrible move on the part of GW. Gav Thorpe is well known for making highly unbalanced Codexes, and not the good unbalanced ones either. I agree with you, although alot of non-Chaos players cry about how broken the Chaos codex 3.5 was.
