Well because im so sick of the really bad books by James Swallo I feel the need to to start a new army. I think the Black Tempars have some of the best fluff in the game so im jumping ship. I thought I would start with an HQ first.

...You're leaving us? Repentance is in order!

I demand the immediate use of empire flagellants as meatsh- I mean initiates...

sure their not in power armor... or armor at all... hell, they don't even get shoes, but you'll get 10 for ~20USD and the sprue comes with a bunch of beautiful extra bits like books, hour-glasses, keys, people in stocks, torches, and a tattered standard that can be attached to the back of a marines pack...

on the books topic... I saw the cover for deus encarmine... lolled and put it down, satisfied with misshapen understanding of the 40k fluff.

On your chaplain itself, everything looks very well done except for the highlighting on the black, it looks a bit too bright, I think boltgun metal may have been a better choice, or perhaps washing the highlights black... Ignore everything I just said, I started putting paint on marines a couple months ago and haven't touched black yet.

Best of luck on the good ship Templar, your key to victory is meat-shields... chainsword/boltpistol tac squads and meat-shields

Oh, welcome to the dark side :)

Nice looking chaplain you got there. I like the model even though belted ammo for hand guns reeks of chaos.

On the matter of fortress gray i'd say a first highlight with Shadow grey and then an extreme highlight with fortress grey or alternatively bleached bone. I've used both with good effect. It depends a bit on how you want to envision the colour of the powerarmour. A high gloss colour would give practically white highlights in sunlight. Just go outside and inspect a glossy newly polished car and you'll see what i mean. A matte colour wouldn't shine as much and a less white highlight is the way to go. Getting natural highlight on black is amongst the hardest you can do in our hobby. All in my opinion of course.
