My gut instinct is telling me to let loose a howl, scream something about 'WITCH!' and bash you with a frost-axe....

However, the sane, rational part of me sees that free-hand and goes "GOOO!!!" and despairs of every painting again.. Ever...

Only thing I could suggest is maybe some weathering/battle damage (subtle) and possibly highlighting the red a bit more...

Another random idea... What about scrolls tacked onto the vehicle with 'scarab seals' as sort of wardings/sorcerer's protection?

Good job... For a filthy warp-witch...

First off, the freehand looks very nice, but i'd like a sharp picture if possible? :)

But it seems to me as the top part of the rhino isn't attached properly to the hull? I can imagine it was to facilitate a more easy piece for doing the freehand, but is it glued into place yet?

Also, for a cool effect, drill out the top part of the exhausts!

:D

has anyone got tips on weathering? I cant seem to find any good articles.

Hardlining? what does this mean? (is it like VERY lightly drybrushing the whole tank?)

I'm not all for doing any heavy weathering on a marine vehicle. Sure, they can get pretty banged up in combat, but generally my impression of marines are, that they keep 'em clean (to quote Dayday from Next Friday). As you know, I paint almost all of my marines pretty neat and clean and I reserve my heavy weathering for my Imperial Guard army. I think it's more in keeping with the marines dedication to their equipment that they don't allow it to become worn and damaged.

So, in my oppinion, all you should do to this Rhino is some light dust drybrushing to simulate road dust. However, if you're into the weathering business, I strongly recommend the Imperial Armour Model Masterclass volume 1 from Forgeworld. It is packed with usefull, but somewhat difficult, techniques.
