So SoV3 has just been released, and it says there it's lots of art of GK etc.... but are there any GK rules, besides Hector Rex?

 

I am specifically looking for something on the GK Redeemer.... I want one, but don't want to use it unless it's got some at least semi-official rules.

I've noticed that the PAGk and TGK have entries in the book. I hope beyond all hope that those would be "updated" entries. Extraordinarely low possibility, but one can dream!

Really? Could be good..... An upcoming tourney I'm planning on entering allows FW items, so heres hoping we get something good :D

 

I'm so sick of having to take 3 Land Raiders just so I'm not garunteed to lose.

 

Anyone know the release date?

According to people who've seen the book already, no one remembers rules for Grey Knights. No changes to how our special ruls work versus Daemons for example.

 

There are rules for Hector Rex (but no one could remember his special rules...), the Psycannon Razorback, and the GK Redeemer.

 

That's possibly all we're going to get.

 

Not sure I want to fork out £45 just for that....

Well we get Hector Rex who will be ultra killy and probably have most of our psychic powers i would guess...

 

There are PAGK and GKT's entries if you look on "What's in this book" where it shows you all the stuff.

 

And perhaps most exciting of all, there is an entry for a grey knight redeemer.

 

Whether any of these actually conatin any rules at all is a mystery but there is a page for them!

You were never gonna get changes to Grey Knight rules from Forgeworld, GL.

 

It was a slim ray of hope that FW were going to pick up the GK baton (with possible resin GKT, maybe even TH/SS varients), and they SoV3 would be an ideal place to update how our Dameon Powers should actually work versus the Dameons assaulting Vraks.

 

Plus Hector Rex is gonna be a wimp with his 4+ SS that only works versus one target in CC....

 

But it seems we're back to waiting another 5 years for maybe our individualt codex, maybe a cominded one, maybe nothing, to look forward too.

Quick add-in from the Daemonhunters page of Forge World:

 

A Grey Knights Land Raider armed with twin linked Psycannons and two Flamestorm Incinerators. Complete resin and plastic kit...

 

Emphasis is mine. Considering that there's an entry in SoV:III, it's looking good for Grey Knights!

I didn't see any new GK rules, although there is a datasheet for a LR based strikeforce of GKTs + Inq Lord.

Rex has 2+/3+, +1S, an Anointed Force Weapon, and a boatload of anti-daemon equipment - 285 points and can take 0-9 Henchmem

 

So he at least gets the new 3++ Storm Shields... /sigh

 

So he's S4/T3? And he wounds Daemons with his Killing outright Force Weapon on a 4+.

 

I was hoping for some more sweeping generic rules, and 285 points seems super expensive...

You really think Rex is only T3. I mean he is practically in TDA. I saw the +1S so I got real excited for a second thinking S5 base stat, but then I thought what is the reasoning for this when he has a S6 force weapon.......I guess T3 it is......sigh

I should read better next time.

It says just annoited force weapon, probably not a nemisis.....making S5 T4 much more likely...I have hope again.

285!? They've got to be kidding... An =I= lord with Blessed Weapon, Force Weapon, Plasma Pistol, Storm Shield, Termi armor, Psychic Hood, Grimoire of True Names, Unguents of Warding, Sacred Incense, Holy Relic and Holocaust (assuming he could take all that), would still leave you roughly enough points to take 3 plasgun-toting warrior henchmen...

He is in TDA.

 

That's why he's got a 2+ save. ;)

 

Edit: Normal S3/T3 Inquisitors can purchase TDA (who needs a Black Carapace!!), I took the +1S to represnt the "Giant of a man" Hector is supposed to be.

 

It would just seem underpowered if he only had a S4 force weapon. Unless the annoited part does something, guess I will just have to wait about 3 weeks until my book comes,

Well, with the retinue and his 3++ save, he has a fair chance of hitting back even against Angrath... And then, with with our funky Force Weapons (I'm still uncomfortable with this) remove the 888pts model about 22% of the time (assuming he has 3 attacks). But then, the Chaos player will never let Rex near his major daemons.

I guess we'll have a better idea once we know his stats and what anti daemon equipment he has. At that price though, surely he'd have 4 attacks?!? Even so, he's obviously going to be delivered via LR. :(

As an IC he'd have to be in B2B for his attacks to land. So the Daemon will go first, and (at least) split his attacks to land some on Rex. We'll have to hope he makes all his 3++ SS saves (Grrrr..... Why does he get to have a nice new SS, and our GK can't. It's this idiocy I can't understand...), in order to get the chance to return. And hope none of the Khorne stuff has the "Make Force Weapons act like Power Weapons" that's still around. ;)
