Siege of Vracks 3 question

The Razorback is great and disappointing. It's price is ok, the twin-linked psycannons are great but... Grey Knights aren't allowed to take it. Only Stormtroopers or Inquisitors, which makes me want to cry and leaves me with ab utter lack of comprehension. Why are IG like troopers getting a Space Marine vehicle if they have their Chimeras? And Grey Knights aren't allowed to take it?!

But on the other hand, the Redeemer got shiny Psyke-Out-Launchers...

:(

ZOMG!

So for 270 points we get;

Hull Mounted Twin Linked Psycannon

2 x Flamestorm Incinerators (S6, AP3, Ignore Invulnerable Saves, Template)

Psych-out Launchers (for I10 on the first round of combat)

Grey Kinghts. Don't leave home without one! (or two, or three!).

The GK style redeemer seems pretty cool. I really dislike the fact, that it is a fw thing and therefore banned from most games - and that it does not provide anti tank support. <_<

New codex ---> awesome FW stuff in normal games ---> so much win!

edit: ChaosPhoenix PAGK can not take razorbacks, because... yes hmmm... think GW... no there is no logical reason.

Just saw the book. No option for a Multi Melta and for some reason Extra Armour is three times as expensive as in the DH Codex. Psyke Out Grenades are a liberty though. It says anyone assaulting out of a vehicle with them counts as initiative 10..... would that include models with Fists/Hammers?

Extra armor changed in price since hte DH codex, this is just updating to the norm.

And, the grenades would make any model init 10, then the fist/hammer would reduce it to 1 again.

He comes with three henchmen as standard, presumably one adds +1I (Familiar-equivalent).

Nope, none of the people in his mandatory retinue is equivalent to a familiar. He can take a familiar, but then it shouldn't have been included in his stat line. I'm thinking that forgeworld may have forgotten a thing or two about his wargear. I can't wait for the errata to come out.

As for the GK Redeemer, I used two in an Apoc game a week or so ago. These things are utter beasts. Utter. Had both opponents jaws droping, and scrambling to divert all attention to taking them out, after they melted unit after unit.

Add in a 12" AWIYE to move a MM Dev Squad in range of a 12" move, PotMS Flame, and I10 GK Terminator Assault, and it sealed the deal.

Neither of my opponents could get over how much just these two tanks changed the gameplay of that night. And to be honest, neither of them particularily want to face them again. Ever. Melting the majority of a Squad of Conceal backed Wrathguard, and a massive amount of Marines, has firmly sealed these away in my mates minds.

But for one game. Oh my gosh.

If you like the GK in LR style of play, try to get to use these at least once (and take all your LR as them!!). They are quite as grossly overpowered as I expected them to be.

It annoys me that the rules for this are only in IA7. I want this model, but with the book it's going to cost me over $AUD200 just to use ONE tank.... not worth it. I'd pay the $100+ for the tank if I didn't have to buy the book too....... It's not like a codex where I will use the whole book.

Maybe it will end up on a torrent site, where I would never dream of infringing on GW's IP by downloading a copy.........

This problem then arises....

If he's using a Codex Marine Storm Shield, then by rights he should be using an Instant Death causing Force Weapon. Which would make any Daemon immune to its Instant Death.

Finally got my book today.

His rules specifically state his force weapon wounds daemons on a 4+ or better and "instantly kills any opponent regardless of wounds remaining upon a succesful psychic test (except for gargantuan creatures who suffer d3 wounds)". It makes no mention of Instant Death whatsoever. Also, his storm shield specifies a 3+ invulnerable save.

In this case it is a very clear cut (and unusual) case of the DH getting to have their cake and eat it too.
