UltraRich
Evening Ive got bored of painting blue plastic marines so to break up the endless smurf production line I pulled all my old marines out of the loft and decided to make a squad of old metal marines. I want to paint them something interesting (not blue) so Im open to ideas. Im leaning towards blood angels but let me know what you think. Any pics of painted marines would be appreciated so I can get an idea. I'll post a picture of the ones Ive stripped (and to be stripped) later tonight Thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/175744-which-chapter-advice-needed/ Share on other sites

AdeptusDavidus
I second the Sons of Orar suggestion - they have a nice pretty colour scheme, and they'd make easy allies to field with your Ultras. Ashen-Shugar
I'd keep it, as it probably won't go for that price anyway since its a BIN. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/175744-which-chapter-advice-needed/#findComment-2076802 Share on other sites
UltraRich
Sons of Orar it is then For the next question do I use the original metal backpacks, the early 90's plastic versions or the new back packs. The only thing with the new ones is that they are massive on these models Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/175744-which-chapter-advice-needed/#findComment-2076821 Share on other sites
Iron Phoenix
I think that you should keep the backpacks as they came with the model, or, to ensure quality, use the old plastics rather than used+stripped ones. Sons of Orar are a great choice and one of the best-looking successors. They also benefit from looking great with gold detailing (much like their ultramarine brethren) and they can take UM blue as accents making a very striking and integrated allied force.
