Imperial Fists 4th Company Log (With TON of Pictures)

Hey Guys,

OK here it is, this started life as a Normal Dred with Forge world arms (Inferno and Assault Drill). I cut and extended the legs, and extend the torso.

After the Ironclad rules came out I got a model and added some bits from that. I can't stand the Sex nubs on the "hammer" arm you can see my fix. I picture them working like spinning Powerfield enveloped drill points. Arms are all MAgnetic and I will be adding more detial work and lascannon, assaultcannon, and twin auto cannon arms.

C&C is welcome and thanks for all the help in getting the pictures posted.

Nice Conversion. I really like the leg extensions, gives the dread a bit more towering look, and nice use of the banner as a tabard. Did you use rods to extend the legs before putting on the green stuff? Any chance of a comparison shot with a marine for scale?

To answer your question yes I used rod to extend the legs first, bit I didn't like the look, it looked to frail to me. So I used greenstuff to fill in a bit and added armor to the legs. I wish I that the ironclad leg guards were out when I put his on, as the iron clad leg guards look much better but will have to save that for my next dread I will be starting this weekend.

Wow! The Dreadnought is fantastic will you be painting it soon. The Chaplain with the power fist looks very cool aswell.

Thanks Shaw, I have been spending most of my little free time working on getting stuff put toghter, so I may have a friend of mine (That is an awsome Aritist) paint it for me. Newborn daughter in the house and a 2 year old son don't leave alot of free time. =)

I love your apothercary how do you do the cool blue glow effect? Ink's or washes?

Ray sorry I didn't see your question sooner. It was done with a few coats of extream hightlighting a super fine tip brush and a really study hand. No inks or washs were used on him.

THanks for the comments guys and I will try and get some more stuff posted this weekend...

Wow, ao much to comment on - I have to pull the thread up in a second window just so I can look at all those pictures as I type.

First off, the extended height Dread looks great, I think some of the true-scale marine folks could benefit from that simple conversion. The rework of the hammer drill is a great idea as well - and, now you can trade those other bitz to a Slaaneshi player in your local gaming group, I'm sure they can be put to good use there

The Chaplain with the fist crosius is fantastic :P Very fitting object to be smiting the foes of the Emperor with !!

That Venerable Dread is really cool looking - is that a standard kit, or forgeworld?

The Apoth, well, he is just awesome looking, the shading on that white is wild looking, hell, the shading on the whole figure is just plain amazing :)

::Acknowledging Nod to True and hopes to be more positive in the future::

Edit:

Though I must say I do learn from negative coments that are backed up with reasons as to why, or at least I try to learn from everything life gives good, bad, or strange.

Looks like I shall be the first to ask.... :)

How do you go about painting your yellow? As I think it looks brilliantly done.

It's not to hard nowadays with the founadation panits.

prime white it has to be white

next base coat of the foundation yellow I forgets its name its like a dark mustard.

Then LIGHT layer of golden yellow

Then Layer or two as needed of 1 to 1 water to golden yellow

Then layer of 50% golden yellow 25% water 25% the ork yelliow its like color cryron yellow.

last highlight with 25% white 25% ork 25% golden

wash use as needed and of course battle damage ect...
