Brother-Librarian Hesperos
Brothers of the Emperor, I have discussed with my brother DA, about the relationship between us and the Sons of Russ. But who better to ask than the Wolves themselves, in character and out, what do you think of us? Firenze
As I am green yet have fangs (I have both armies), I say SW kinda have a more serious rivalry as they believe Russes honour was tarnished by Lion el. The DA have grown to be annoyed at us pups yipping about it and have hated the SW also for Russ 'stopping' Lion el being able to get their legions to save the emperor. Jonas Stromclaw
There was that seige of some rogue governor's fortress during the Great Crusade where the Lion didn't cover our flank and got a whole bunch of wolves killed while he went and hogged all the glory, then there is the fact that the DA just drop everything to go hunt for fallen, even at the expense of thier fellow Imperial troops... Oh, and the fact you guys wear robes, there is nothing creepier to a fenrisian than a warrior who wears robes, it just ain't right. So no wonder we aren't on the friendliest of terms. Florida Gator
Yeah the whole robes thing... no comment. Then there's the fact that we drink ale an you guys drink appletinis. And i agree lion stole russ' honour. but i'm not as hardcore as some of my fellow wolves. :cuss Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/175913-brotherhood/#findComment-2079005 Share on other sites
Imperialis_Dominatus
I always took it more as a friendly rivalry than anything. They reenact an honor duel between their Primarchs, but they don't actually go to war with one another. And in the end, Russ and the Lion were brothers- remember the stabbing incident? And i agree lion stole russ' honour Given the Lion's inspiration... oh, I'm not even going to go there. Ivarr
<OOC> I hope that the new SW sprues are at least as cool as the DA veteran and Ravenwing sprues. I don't have the hang up about robes that other Wolf Lords have...we wear fur capes after all. <IC> All of the secrecy surrounding the Dark Angels is obviously cover for their corruption. They no longer walk the path of the righteous, and if any one of them crosses me or my pack-mates I will spill his blood and free his unrighteous soul!! Then I will feed his entrails to a Fenrisian Wolf and cleanse his body in the flames of Freya (my loyal combi-flamer!) Schertenleib
Lord Ragnar Blackmane was able to look beyond our history with the DA and they did return to assist the "Fist of Russ" when it was needed. I am willing to learn from Lord Ragnar's example, but should the DA take the field in opposition to the Truth and Word of the Emperor my Great Company will stand in their way. Brother-Librarian Hesperos
I find it funny and ironic, the space wolves respect the DA but to the DA your about as close of friends we have, because if the brotherhood between the primarchs, while Russ is a blood thirsty savage, whom I love don't get me wrong. The lion was pissed the wolf took forever to get back to the emperor and decided to stab him 2 things happened, Russ was remorseful so he took the blade, however at the last moment the lion realized his mistake and turned his blade, nursed him back to health and the first sight Russ had after that was the lion literally begging forgiveness. I think of them as competetive brothers, since ragnar knows our little... secret and has not betrayed us. That's my view. Jarl Kjaran Coldheart
the major problem i see between the the two of us is that we cannot understand breaking an oath...while you would ignore the fate of entire plants in your obsession to hunt the fallen. for that you are battle brothers by blood, not by deed. Skaldnir
Well personally it depends on the person playing the angels. For example, there are 2 dark angel players in the local gaming league one is a great guy and player the other not so much. But, wolf lord thunor thunderhowl(my wolf lord) would rather introduce any dress wearing leprechauns to his thunder hammer. In general i would say the wolves cannot trust the dark angels, the lion may have regretted it, but he still stabbed his brother. Demogerg
My most frequent opponent is a DA player My games against the Dress angels have always been the most fun/fluffy. They usually involve one of us trying to suckerpunch the others' HQ with powerfist marines. -In true primarch fasion.
