yeah they work indpentandly. It's basicly a way of fitting up to 147 guardsmen into one troop slot.

each unit works on it's own but when it comes to reserves they all have to be off but you roll one dice for all the squads in a platoon.

in my opinion it's best to keep them close together to benefit from orders but thats just me.

Happy gaming

ok had the touney, came 4th outta 10-12 list i ran was:

GKGM -psy hood GKT x 5 w/ psycannons

Inquisitor w/ psycannon - mystic, HB servitors x 2, PC servitor, sage x 2

3 squads of 8 PAGK 1 with 2 incinerators and the other 2 with 1 psycannon each

2 platoons with PCS, 2x Infantry squads and HWT with autocannons

3 x Sentinels with autocannons

LR- EA, SL

LRC - SL

Lance Strike NOTE!!! never taking this again!!!

1st game was for table quaters, i was aginst sisters, we only got to 3 turns because she was new to the game, i came out with a minor victory

2nd game was against Blood angels for objectives, went to turn 6, it was a draw.

3rd game was massacre against another Blood angel army...it ended as a draw even though i slaughtered him the first 5 turns and the objective was wipe every single model off the table...so he kept running a rhino and bikes behind a building where i had no chance of reaching it....

all in all it was pretty fun, the army list went great bar the orbital strike...
