Hello, As you can see, I am new here. I have been a WH40k fan for the past five years and I've finally got around to buying some space wolves. My current collection consists of 10 Space Wolf Grey Hunters, 10 Tactical Space Marines, 1 Commander, and a Predator Tank. I need ideas for what I should buy next.

Thanks!

Sincerely,

A_N

Basically the line for now is to wait. We are expecting a new codex very soon. You should be safe with Greyhunters, Blood Claws, and standard vehicles such as the Rhino or Predator.

Welcome to the Fang!

Thats the truth of it... Welcome, I hope you like crushing your enemies and ale, though not necessarily in that order :P

The only thing I hate about land raiders is that they're so damn expensive.

I have like $20 in my stash of cash ( I HATE BANKS! )

EDIT:

Can someone post a how to paint wolves with the paints:

Dwarf Flesh, Tanned Flesh, Skull White, Chaos Black, Astronomician Grey, Shadow Grey, Space Wolves Grey, Boltgun Metal, Shining Gold, Black Ink, Flesh Wash

THANKS IF YOU DO!

I'll be sneaky here and post a quick tutorial  . A good place however to get guides is the dedicated area in this sub-forum. Located here

Undercoat Chaos Black. (Best results with Chaos Black Spray) and then a light coat of slightly watered down chaos black into the parts which avoided the spray.

Paint all armour panels with 1 or 2 layers of watered down slightly Shadow Grey. For greater effect you may want to keep all recesses black so it brings out a nice bold look on the armour. However this takes a while and if your wanting quick painting I don't recommend it.

Highlight all armour with a 50/50 mix of Shadow grey to Space Wolves grey.

The imperial Acquilla chest area can have a variety of different methods. One is dry-brushing shining gold over the area and leaving the black in the gaps between the feathers. I do recommend though not going with shining gold at all and going with dwarf bronze. Although shining gold and then a black wash looks okay too.

Some paints I recommend getting though before you paint if you can salvage funds: Badab black, (metallic areas, e.g. Boltgun), Devlan Mud, (again, Metallic areas to give it a slightly dirty, weathered look), Scab Red and blood red for the eyes. Scab Red then Blood Red on top and allowing the scab red to show though slightly around the eyes. A final finishing touch with one extremely tiny dab of white to the centre of each eye to give it a feel as if the marine is looking at a bright source of light.

Like the others here, I'll say the same: Wait. If you've read the "SW Confirmed for Oct. Rel." thread, you'll see that it looks like we have some potentially great stuff coming.

If the $$$ is just burning a hole in your pocket, I'd buy some scouts; you can always wolf them out when we get our upgrades in the next few months. Plus, scouts have the OBEL rule. I just bought some per Valerian's suggestion.

Welcome to the Fang, brother! *raises a stein*

Uhmm. We don't have tactical sqauds brother, they are simply referred to as Grey Hunters, and you'll have to drop the missile launcher because Grey Hunters can't take them (and I don't think they will in the new dex either, maybe, maybe not) But that means you have your first Long Fang!

I like the poses brother, I myself prefer the darker shadow grey scheme but still nice work and they certainly put me to shame.

you can buy the devastator squad box and make tons of heavy weapons out of it, and wolf them out with the bits from the new stuff, or the GH box that you have. I can now make two long fangs squads with just about any load out that I want. I would also suggest a land raider, has been one of my all star units for me. predators, dreadnoughts (hopefully we get a new venerable one), land speeders for a good fast mobile fire platform. rhinos for your foot sloggers are a must! wait for blood claws till the new stuff (unless you can still find a box, or dont mind buying multiple assault squad boxes). stick to the basics and you will be fine.
