Leman Russ and Preatorian Lieutenant

I've recently started some classic Preatorian guardsmen (for commission). So far, I've painted up a lieutenant and one Leman Russ:

The idea for the tank color scheme is that it is in dress colors (like the guardsmen themselves) and then left in the field for a while (justifying the battle damage).

I'm really thinking about how well these guys might go with either a Demon Hunter or Witch Hunter force. The bright color scheme that goes with Preatorians wouldn't be lost next to the strong colors of the inquisitorial forces. Anyway, I have some grey knights that I plan to start up soon.

Commentary of all kinds is welcome.

We do make some exceptions GN. We realize folks want to post their full =][= Armies but we do have some restrictions as posted in the Inquisition forum:

What can I discuss?

Discussion of any units in the Codex: Daemonhunters, Codex: Witchhunters and Codex: Xenoshunters (when released) are acceptable. Also allowed are discussions about allied Space Marines or inducted Imperial Guard. Note: if you can't take it in a valid Inquisitorial armylist, you can't discuss it here (so discussing a Basilisk for example, isn't allowed).

Painting, converting and artwork: everything painting, converting or artwork-related about inducted Imperial Guard units is to be posted in the *Ordos Inquisition* section of the board, not in the PC&A.

Otherwise we wind up with folks just posting massive IG armies and claiming "it's for my Inquisition army". It is something that doesn't really have a "happy medium" to it and we have to take it on a case by case basis.

So for now this can stay (in the proper forum), however if it turns out that we don't see some SoB or GKs after a time you can expect the thread to be closed if it indeed turns out to be just IG.

The storm bolter on the 'Russ bothers me. Being centred on the hatch, when the hatch is opened, the crew can't operate it, when it's closed, the crew should be inside the tank. As it's modelled now, the only way to use it is to get out, close the hatch, and then pray nothing hits the daring crew man.

In my opinion, either it should be moved in front of the hatch ring for pop-hatch operation, or, fitted with some kind of targeter and have the handles replaced with a servo unit for remote operation.

I'm vexed when nice paint work gets squandered on sloppy modelling.

Actually it seems that the pintle mount is on the opposite side of the hatch from the camera, so from the given angle it looks like it is sitting right on top of the hatch.

Well I'm glad B&C is making an exception, these models are too good to be hidden. Excellent work, very smooth. I usually don't like praetorian coloured tanks, but this one is nice.

Quick, stick a GK next to it before Kurgan changes his mind :)

GN: How sincere are you about putting these models inside an Inquisition army? Do you have any such army in the works? They're very nice, but if all you want to do is show off your IG models, the B&C is not the place for it.

Time is running out for you to prove the suitability of this topic.
