Slipping back down the slope

I found some weird little sticks with hairs on the end at the back of my gaming cupboard, along with some pots of coloured stuff. Remembered what they were for and for the first time in some months, we have progress!

Just got to finish some details on the right shoulderpad, then think about adding some scrawl on the scrollwork. Final check for any problems and he's done! Should have called this chapter The Procrastinators...

Well holy cr@p, I went and finished something... Thanks Magicman, the LoTD Sgt Helmet was one of those parts, just screamed at me to hack it off and use it for the good Captain here. As for Seth, he's got a fecking huge chainsword, it's just awesome...

Anyway, pics or it didn't happen:

As is traditional for this log, I haven't done anything for ages! On with the Terminators then:

Close up of the Sgt there, got the Primary Red all sorted and blacking out the details now. Wasn't sure which unit to go to after the Captain was finished, but since these guys have performed so well over the last two and a half years (accounting for Trigons, Draigo's, Dreadknights and sundry other nasties), I figured they were next in line.

Some work done on the Terminators at least - Base, Layer and now Wash complete, ready for some highlighting... Something new to stretch myself, I've never been able to do it to my satisfaction. If it goes well I may go back to my previous units and apply some there as well.

And one of my new toys:

Done a bit of work to the Stormtalon - I cut off the lower tail stabiliser, replaced the assault cannon with ones from the Land Speeder kit, covered up the mounting points for the wings on the engine pods.

DR - Went looking for the ETL after you mentioned it, seems like a fine idea but between work, studying for a degree and family life, my painting time I pretty sporadic...

KS, the helmet I used was a must-have as soon as I saw it, but mine's from a LotD Sgt.

Cheers all!

Hah! I would never have guessed that -- thanks for pointing that out. It's still a beautiful model, though! Reminds me a bit of my very first Word Bearers Dark Apostle, based on the model for the Salamander's Chaplain Xavier (I think that was his name).

Great to see a project starting back up again, especially with such a break in activity! I know I had a huge 3 year hiatus from 40k while I built my career/marriage/etc., but it's always nice to come back to the hobby and find out that few things ever change in the Grimdark. Hope to see more soon! biggrin.png

Some progress on my Storm Talon - a first attempt at highlighting and applying some damage.

Want to apply a few more bits of damage, I've found some areas of highlighting that need tweaking, then decals and it's done!

Progress with my Librarian - almost finished, just some touching up on the highlighting, then detail work (scrollwork, psyker eye-glow).
