Sons of Horus
Ok so the final battle between Horus and the emperor took place in the bridge of the Vengeful Spirit but what happened to the flagship itself after the battle. Was it taken back to the Eye of Terror then eventually lost or was it destroyed over Terra? Lord Khammon
Ok so the final battle between Horus and the emperor took place in the bridge of the Vengeful Spirit but what happened to the flagship itself after the battle. Was it taken back to the Eye of Terror then eventually lost or was it destroyed over Terra? After the death of Horus, Abaddon kicked the ass of Dorn and his retinue in a furious counter attack to take back the corpse of their Primarch. When Dorn teleported back on Terra with the body of the Emperor and Sanguinius, the Vengeful Spirit escaped in the Eye of Terror. In a first time, the Sons of Horus hides in fortress-tomb and venerate Horus' dead corpse. The other chaos Legions start a war against them. The body of Horus is finally stolen and cloned. After this event, Abaddon renamed the Sons of Horus : the Black Legion and started a campaign to destroy the clones of Horus. The Vengeful Spirit was still the Amiral Ship of the Legion. Ignatius
Or more realistically, Dorn and the rest of the boarding party simply left with the need to get back to Terra with the Emperor in really bad shape. Wasn't Abbadon on Terra at that time? Raven Angel
What I read I think in the 3.5 dex was he was fighting at the palace and felt the death. He returned to the ship at once and fought his way to the bridge where he toor the tallon from Horus' body and then began the withdraw from Trerra. Rain
I don't think anyone knows what happened to the ship because as I understand it, it was first named in the HH books and was previously just referred to as "Horus's flagship" and wasn't seen as all that special. So as of now the fluff hasn't yet been backfilled enough to account for its current whereabouts. At least I think so, maybe I'm wrong. Commander Proteus
Given the size...I'm not sure, but could it have been the framework for the Planet Killer? It would make sense that the SoH/BL retained it, and being one of the greatest ships in either armada, I can't see them just mothballing it. Pimp my ride, anyone? :D -Proteus Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176382-the-fate-of-the-vengeful-spirit/#findComment-2085796 Share on other sites
Raven Angel
In all likly hood it was destroyed by one of the other traitor legions in the fighting inside the eye after their defeat.
