The emperors chosen
In the Ravenor Omnibus, it mentions Eisenhorn, and him being presumed dead. My question is, is he really dead, I've just started the second book, and I know the third series could be titled Ravenor vs. Eisenhorn. number6
I don't think anybody knows the definitive answer to that question. The Eisenhorn series ends with him riding off into the sunset. The Ravenor series ends after that event has happened, so nobody really knows. mega_marines
Well according to Abnett he is very much alive. There is supposedly another trilogy coming out that features both Eisenhorn and Ravenor as the main characters. Loyalist
Eisenhorn is mentioned several times in the Ravenor trilogy. He's presumed to be dead although the characters in the novels have no physical proof that he is. Inquisitor Agrippa
I haven't read the trilogy in a while, but if I remember correctly, Ravenor makes contact a couple times or receives information from a shady character he calls Thorn. I don't remember 'Thorn' actually being in a scene but referred to as hiding out on some planet they make a stop at. I always took this as Eisenhorn hiding out. I'd have to dig out my books to see if I'm just making this all up. Loyalist
Having read the Eisenhorn trilogy I agree that Thorn is probably Eisenhorn. He used the word Thorn to refer to himself in his coded battle language of 'Glossia'. Chay
Is this true? Sorry I just finished the Ravenor Omnibus. I want to know what happens to Gideon and Gregor after that. Captain Malachi
For the record, the omnibus makes it painfully clear it's Eisenhorn (the first short story is of them meeting), and I'm fairly sure it said in the actual book it was him as well, but maybe they changed that in the omnibus since it'd be pointless to keep it secret after revealing it. But yeah, there's meant to be a trilogy involving both, so it seems pretty safe to assume the old guy's still alive and kicking daemon butt. Edit- Then again, maybe it'll be a prequel? There was a pretty big time gap between when ravenor joined Eisenhorn and the book where we actually met him, maybe it'll be their early escapades... You know, or not. Inquisitor Fox
Yup, there will be a third, final trilogy. With Alizebeth Bequin as a leading character. Out of curiosity, where did you come by this information about Alizebeth? Artein
Dan Abnett himself told it in one of the podcasts.... You can find it on youtube probably. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176387-ravenor/#findComment-2215299 Share on other sites
Inquisitor Fox
That would explain it, I don't really listen to podcasts. Thank you for the information though! This made my day, she was one of my favorite characters in the series.. now I need to get off my duff and acquire the Ravenor books... River Black
If I remeber correctly in one of the Ravenor books he either meets with or has some sort of contact with him "Thorn". There are other refrences that imply that Eisenhorn is still alive. Loyalist
In the third book of the Ravenor trilogy Bequin's body is stored in stasis aboard the rogue trader vessel Ravenor and his retinue travel in. In one chapter two members of the retinue visit the stasis chamber. It is not clear why she's there or whether she's been killed. However, I haven't read the second book, which probably explains what happened to her. Inquisitor Fox
The reason for her placement in the stasis chamber is from what happened in the Eisenhorn books :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176387-ravenor/#findComment-2220700 Share on other sites
