I actually have 5 of these (ok, just 3 are done ;)) but I've never used them, and probably won't before the new dex get around here, cause damn, are they expensive in the old dex? Yes, they are, way to expensive, comapre with the SM Dex of late and well, that's just not ok ^_^

Still don't get why GW hasn't FaQ:ed them yet, but I sure hope they fix the pricing in the new dex!

Because, well Blood Claws that can get right into the heat, that's bound to be good.

Ive used them only once for a planet strike game. Blew half the bastions to smithereens before butchering the weak little traitor guardsmen inside. Assaulting on the same turn you deepstrike rocks! :lol:

They are awesome for this aren't they? The most effective tactic for me with jump pack BCs in non-planetstrike games has been to use a majority mech force for cover as you advance (LRs are particularly good) and then charging out from behind them to get the assault in. Grey Hunter rhinos can be good for this... a burst of rapid fire from them followed by the charge of the Claws... beautiful stuff, but it can go horribly wrong :P

 

Other than that, they are pretty hard to get your points back with, but good fun though. Competitive? Not really IMHO... Fingers crossed for the new dex...

id rather have bikers then packers IMHO. that +1 T from the bike pays off well. plus you get your own rapid fire from the bikes and can charge (? did this change in 5e also?). then the GH rapid fire also, wow! that is a lot of bolt shots going into a unit before combat
