OnlyInDeath
Well, I finally have a few hours of free time, and while I really should be writing some more for you gents (sorry for the long delay), I decided I really need to get my butt into gear for the hunt. So, without further ado, here's my current WIP, TLHF/HF dread, ready to pod down and put all enemies to flame :P I know it's not as insanely converted as some, but I think it gives a definate wolf flare. I'll be getting him based up later today before doing an inventory of my paints and brushes so I can get painting on him. http://i895.photobucket.com/albums/ac156/onlyindeath_photos/dread1.jpg http://i895.photobucket.com/albums/ac156/onlyindeath_photos/dread2.jpg http://i895.photobucket.com/albums/ac156/onlyindeath_photos/dread3.jpg http://i895.photobucket.com/albums/ac156/onlyindeath_photos/dread4.jpg Obviously the arms are solidly posed, but I personally like this much better than the detachable arm build. I've stated before, I like to have all my vehicles to have their own personality and weaponload, and I dont like the lack of dynamics that keeping the arms unglued gives the model. I also kept the fuel tanks on the flamer arm small, as I took my inspiration from the FW inferno cannon for the dread which doesnt even have any tanks showing. I wanted them to be reserve tanks besides the internal ones, for a few extra shots when it counts :) Will try to get painting and updated pics up soon. Wolfbrother Thrarne
He looks great!! When did the twin-linked heavy flamer become an option? does everyone under the template get hit twice? *second edition player* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176559-wip/#findComment-2087431 Share on other sites
OnlyInDeath
as of the latest C:SM. Since we use that dex for our normal dreads, you take the weapon options there. TLHF/HF i think comes in at a whopping 105 pts or something like that. The rules of a TLHF is just like a heavy flamer, you just re-roll any missed wounds. Combine that with a HF offhand, and yeah, that's a whole lot of wounds against anything AP4 or worse. Great for thinning out orks, pathfinders, kroot in cover, etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176559-wip/#findComment-2087451 Share on other sites
Wolfbrother Thrarne
Cool, he'll be a real monster stepping out of his pod. I remember when we first tried 3rd edition sisters immolators used the double hits under the template system. I think they mainly changed it because of that. Captain morgan
Looks like it's coming along nicely. you know,i always did think that was strange that standard dreads had no fuel tanks.
