Coverfire Posted August 22, 2009 Share Posted August 22, 2009 So I get an e-mail from GW this morning as I have just joined their mailing list, which promotes the release of the upcoming model Azhag the Slaughterer... An Ork Lord(?) Riding some type of Winged Beast. Those of you who know the Orks might be able to fill in the large gaps there.. Anyways, when I saw it I was reminded of the rumour of our own Juggernaut Wolf Riding Wolf Priest and thought that it all seemed rather Warhammer Fantasy. I admit that I have never played Warhammer Fantasy either so I could be jumping to conclusions but it you process that which the rumoured Sagas trait that we're suppose to be getting, it seems like the two rules systems are getting closer and closer together. Going one step further, is it possible that the future could hold a merged rules system in which Fantasy forces can pit themselves against futuristic forces in a manner not too dissimilar too the Hordes System? Very doubtful, but I had nothing better to do so I thought I would share that random idea with anyone who can be bothered to read it. Garmr Posted August 22, 2009 Share Posted August 22, 2009 Well a lot of time ago the world of warhammer fantasy was in the eye of terror and it was rumored that Sigmar was one of the lost primarchs . In the new background the game designers said that the universe of warhammer 40k and warhammer fantasy are divided so i think that we'll never have such battles :thanks: . I've drawn connections between Ulric of Fantasy, who's Leman Russ in all but name and our own Primarch. Ulric has the domains of War, Winter, and Wolves, all of which are common themes amongst the Wolves of Fenris. His worshippers are also nearly identical to Fenrisians in terms of beliefs, actions, and appearance. So if any 40k-Fantasy crossover were to occur, it'd be that Russ ended up in the WFB world and became known as Ulric. I was seriously considering creating a 'Hammers of Ulric' (thats their name right?) Fantasy Force a while back but there are not enough fantasy players where I live... They all play Hordes. If I remember rightly too, I could never find any rules for them... No luck either on the GW site, all traces of anything Middenheim related are gone.
