Nelo Akuma
Hello my fellow Inquisitors. After getting myself started on my Inquisitress a bit ago the idea of further customizing my Army has been nagging me like a cuddly Genestealer politely asking me to hand over my brain. So here I am, having decided that I want a different type of Jump Packs for my Seraphim. I want a more wing-like design while keeping a slightly crude, mechanical look. so far i have been able to find two alternatives that fit my idea: http://www.battlefield-berlin.de/shop/Media/Shop/micro_scifi20.jpg http://www.battlefield-berlin.de/shop/Media/Shop/micro_scifi19.jpg (items found on www.battlefield-berlin.de; created by Micro Art Studio) I plan to remove the pipes on top and maybe replacing them with the top half of the generic SoB Backpack if the design allows it. What are your thoughts? Have you found other alternatives similar? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176689-seraphim-jump-packs/ Share on other sites
WelshMullet
you could use the imperial guard grav packs (from their drop troopers) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176689-seraphim-jump-packs/#findComment-2088669 Share on other sites
Nelo Akuma
I am not really a friend of Forge World parts as so far i have had only bad experiences with them. i would actually prefer metal bits above most else. Hellbreaker
I've considered buying a pack of those wings there and put on my Cannoness and seraphim, when I get the seraphim in the first place... But I'm not sure on how well the backpack fits onto them... Shouldn't be hard to convert though. I gotta thank you though, you reminded me of the wings... Good job. ;) Cheers! Nelo Akuma
friend of mine uses those wings on his Assault Marines and with a pin and a bit Green Stuff they fit rather well on the minis, so i don't see why they wouldn't fit on the Seraphim (might need some 'persuasion' in some positions). Nias Wolf
If I were you, I'd try throwing "steampunk" into some of you searches. I'm not finding anything promising. I don't have much experience with plasticard, but it might be a good way to make those feathers. Eddie Orlock
What about something like this?Once upon a time, I too would have suggested Yeld Wings. Regretfully, the era of bitz ordering has passed. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176689-seraphim-jump-packs/#findComment-2089073 Share on other sites
Brother-Captain Laen
found a great link to some very nice looking saraphim. This will be how I plan on making mine. The sprue is from the Eldar  Plastic is wonderful! http://www.minivault.com/images/WCSeraphim1Top.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/176689-seraphim-jump-packs/#findComment-2089436 Share on other sites
ArmouredWing
What about something like this?Once upon a time, I too would have suggested Yeld Wings. Regretfully, the era of bitz ordering has passed. Damn you all for stealing my idea!!! heh heh heh For my jump canoness I managed to perloin a set of these necromunda wings in a fiercely contested ebay win. They are a great alternative if you can get hold of them and they fit right in with my 'Order of the Armoured Wing'. For those who indeed wish to, ahem, 'borrow' my idea you need to look for Clan Spyre necromunda minis. However, be warned they do seem to be amongst the rarer necromunda minis on ebay and as such demand higher prices. Another alternative that I have also toyed with is using some of the ravenwing bike fairings and doing some conversion on them. Not sure if they're available in plastic on sprues but I've got a couple of these in metal and they have the additional benefit of having a slightly wrap around look to them as well as being slightly bulkier which can look better as a jump pack. Nelo Akuma
it's very true that Swooping Hawks look rather good but they look too high tech and smooth for the idea i have with my army. the Yeld wings i don't know about..... they look too anime-ish for my taste. Their detailing and straight lines ending in sickle-curves to a hollow point look enough like the broad side of a Ravager for me. Frankly, I think the Dark Eldar Scourges look out of place with their more organic bat-like wings. Nias Wolf
I would be very greatfull if someone could post a picture of the back of a Seraphim. I don't know what their jump pack looks like to start with. Side Note: I got my first order today, but am to sick to start working on them. WarriorFish
This fresh topic has a painted Seraphim jump pack if that helps. I've always liked the idea of proper wings for Seras, but that's time and money as always!
